A traveling family of four looking for local fare…and we found it. The place is close enough to the highway that it doesn’t feel out of the way. The service is friendly and professional. We started off the meal with the Bavarian pretzel and spinach and artichoke dip, which were both excellent. We also had their two made from scratch soups (clam chowder and French onion). The French onion soup is some of the best that we’ve had. We ate fish and chips, which was good and tasted fresh, some boneless wings, and a Caesar salad. All the food was good, but the specialties were the best.

It’s always been a nice go to place for good food while we are in the area.
Service is great and the food is average or above.
A little disappointed with the Prime Rib Philly, lacking flavor. But a little horseradish sauce and everything was fine.

If you’re in Mansfield and craving a solid, no fuss pub meal with great vibes, Old Bag of Nails Pub on Lexington Avenue is the spot! I stopped in recently and went for the classic hamburger with fries and wow, it was delicious. Juicy, perfectly cooked patty (they do half-pounders with all the fixings options like cheddar, bacon, BBQ, or keep it simple), and those fries were crispy, hot, and just right. Everything tasted fresh and hit the spot exactly like comfort food should.
The place has such a cool, laid-back atmosphere—think cozy pub feel with a neighborhood hangout energy, good beer selection on draft, and that welcoming local charm. It’s clean, friendly service, and you can tell it’s a go-to for folks around here. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite, watching a game, or just chilling with friends, it delivers every time.
Definitely a Mansfield gem highly recommend the burger if you’re in the mood for something hearty and satisfying. I’ll be back for sure! 10/10 for the food and the vibe. Cheers!

Stopped in here for lunch today with the folks. It was a good experience, but I wasn’t blown away by the food.

I ordered their fish and chips and got the thin fries, as opposed to the steak fries. The fish was battered and fried nicely. It had a nice crunch and the fish itself was tender. It didn’t have a lot of flavor though.

The fries were solid, but again, not a ton of flavor. They were fried well. They had a great crisp to them. But they simply packed a punch of flavor, which is weird because they were seasoned.

The coleslaw was delicious. I like a sweet slaw and theirs is definitely on the sweet side. Really enjoyed it. Wish I was given a larger portion. But I’m simply being greedy there.

We received great service from the lady behind the bar. I found it odd she was waiting tables, but she was quick and efficient. She did a great job of seeing when I had an empty cup and had me filled up quickly.

All in all, a positive experience. I might go back here depending. They have an advantage of being open on a Sunday. Most of the higher quality restaurants here in Mansfield aren’t.

This is worth a detour from the Interstate. The Fried Fish is out of this world and all other fried foods are handmade with their fabulous batter. You’d be hard pressed to find better fried fish the freshness, flakiness and crisp is spot on!

1st Time there; but specificially today they seemed like they were low in staff. Poor Bartender had to tend to atleast a full bar plus tables & got SOME help here & there.
Didnt give us silverware or napkins until appatizers were out.

The food seemed very greasy. Typical, but it was overwhelming on the Fish & Deep Fried Pickles. The Fish was good, firm, was always a good bite.

Id give em another shot dont get me wrong. But I didnt see the hype at all.

Expensive too, but what isnt.

This was our first time coming here. The menu looked great so we wanted to try it out. We walked in and stood by where it said wait to be seated for almost 10 minutes and no one came over to greet or seat us. No bartender in sight. People sitting at the bar with empty drinks. We decided to leave. What a disappointment.

Service was not the best- had to wait about 5 minutes to get somebody to seat me!! I wanted deep fried mushrooms instead of French fries and the waitress said I couldn’t substitute. There were plenty of deep fried mushrooms and they were huge, and very hot!!! They were delicious and very hot/ and a lot!!! The shrimp was delicious also!!! Would I come back – yes I would!!! I definitely love the atmosphere and I don’t usually go to bars!!

We recently hosted our post-season after party for Ohio Social Sports’ Sand Volleyball League at Old Bag and the experience exceeded all expectations. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. Our waitress, Kim, deserves special recognition for her outstanding hospitality. Despite it being her day off, Kim came in with a smile, a positive attitude, and provided attentive service throughout the evening. Her dedication truly made our gathering memorable.

I must also commend the manager, Amie who went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. Despite facing challenges with staffing shortages in the days leading up to our party, Amie handled everything with professionalism and grace. She personally ensured that every detail was taken care of, from menu arrangements to accommodating our specific requests. Amie’s friendly demeanor and proactive approach made us feel welcomed and valued as guests.

The food served was perfectly suited for our group. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers including artichoke dip with chips, fried mushrooms, potato skins, cheese curds, potstickers, and pretzel bites. Each dish was freshly prepared, flavorful, and served promptly.

Overall, our experience at Old Bag of Nails was nothing short of excellent. The combination of great food, exceptional service from Kim and Amie, and a welcoming atmosphere made it the best gathering our company has had to date. We look forward to returning and highly recommend Old Bag of Nails for any event or casual dining experience in Mansfield.
