Ordered the fry bread and the lamb burger (cooked medium). Both were very good. Tasty, quality food. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food came out pretty quickly. Love it. Will be back next time we’re in town.

I ordered their coconut snapper. The dish sounded promising however snapper was NOT what was served to me. It was a bland filet fish with lots of toppings on it and basically nothing I expected from the description of the menu. My cocktail was nice and the bartender was friendly. I liked the decor of the place. It was very dimly lit and a quiet night when I went.

We loved this place. Service, food, cocktails, ambience— all simply fantastic. We did not eat a single thing at The Observatory we didn’t like.

We came in for Brunch. It was later in the afternoon so there was no wait. All of the dishes we ordered were nicely present and delicious Services was prompt-staff was nice and attentive. The drinks were not as good as I remembered-but we still enjoyed our time there.

After seeing all the beautiful waterfalls by the Columbia River Gorge, we headed to the Observatory for an early dinner/happy hour.

Great drinks – and awesome customer service, but the happy hour food lacked a lot flavor. Blackened fish tacos – and their ginger sake mussels were a huge disappointment. My server was kind enough to take the fish tacos off from my tab when she noticed only a single bite taken out of it – which was awesome of her to do.

OMG! Dinner was amazing! I had the filet with shrimp, broccolini and fries! Absolutely delicious! And to top it off, I had the brownie for dessert! Everything was perfect! The 2nd best part was that the prices are very reasonable. A+ highly recommend!

The Observatory is a sophisticated, yet casual restaurant in the Montavilla neighborhood of Southeast Portland. It was honestly a nice change of pace from the other restaurants we had been frequenting in the downtown area (mostly food trucks and bar food). From my few days in Portland, I would say this was my favorite meal and had the best food. So, if you’re in Portland for just a day and want to eat well, definitely put the Observatory on your list.

As usual, The Observatory does not disappoint. Amazing food, great atmosphere and some of the best drinks in Portland. Had the Reuben, Lamb Burger and Garlic Parmesan Rosemary Fries as well as their Happy Hour drink (Vanilla Jim Beam Kentucky Mule), The Capricorn and Prickly Pear Pineapple Margarita. Everything was fantastic, our server (Julia) was absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a great place for some fantastic food and drinks, definitely stop here. You won’t regret it!

Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere! Drinks were OK. They do say they’re spicy, but would have liked to taste something other than spice. The food was great. Meatloaf was okay, mashed potatoes were amazing. The steak was the star of the show — I wish I would have gotten that, but I stole a few bites.
