Had dinner here before a local play and was very impressed. The menu offers a good selection of food, and the cocktail list is extensive with a well-stocked bar. Service was impeccable — truly exceptional from start to finish. I had the house burger, which was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The dessert menu while limited has Jane’s NY ice break which was delicious. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, so I recommend using the valet. Overall, an excellent dining experience.

Dinner at the Oak House tonight was spectacular. Started with French Onion Soup no bread and a crisp on the Cheese and it was perfectly executed with the crisped cheese placed atop the soup and not at the bottom of the soup bowl which usually occurs when ordered without bread. Kudos to staff. Colossal Shrimp Cocktail was good but not as good as it usually is. Shrimp were not Colossal and were 13-15’s at best and lacked their normal pop and flavor. Up next was the Prime Rib Prefix Dinner served with a slightly thickened
A jus, Mash Potatoes, Salad, and Dessert. The 16 oz Prime Rib was seasoned and prepared medium rare to perfection, Mash Potatoes could have been more mashed and creamier but had real potato flavor and with some melted butter and fork action, I did the fix table side and wha la creamy yummy potatoes. Blue Cheese Dressing for the salad needed some blue cheese crumble. Tiramisu Dessert was amazing. I am a fan of this restaurant and some other menu items that I can highly recommend are the outstanding all lump crab cakes, prime rib sliders, smashed burger, short ribs, and the triple fudge brownie served hot with a very creamy delightful ice cream.
At the Oak House I have experienced pleasant service oriented staff, sophisticated but casual environment, and excellent food which is reasonably priced. If you haven’t been, you should go.

Third time at Oak house… Food and service is top notch! My wife and I love coming here. First and and foremost because the food is amazing, secondly, they’re accommodating with our seventh month old.
First time there the wife had the rigatoni and I had the chicken Parm, which was really good.
Second time I had a steak sandwich which people have ranted and raved about, and it lived up to the hype. Wife had the rigatoni again because she’s a creature of habit.
Third time – I had the ribs with the truffle fries… my taste buds were happy again. The wife switched it up finally and went with the lasagna, which was a pleasant surprise.
Desert – the bread pudding is amazing! It’s a must try, although it could use an extra scoop of ice cream.
Bonus points – The server Julia was a sweet heart to my baby

This place was excellent. Reservations are recommended, even during the week. Luckily, we came early on a Thurs night and they let us have a table for an hour before the reservation arrived. The food was excellent. The clam chowder soup was so large, it’s a whole meal in itself – and the burgers were cooked perfectly. The wait staff were all very pleasant but they weirdly kept changing staff on us – not sure if it was because they squeezed us in. There is a very nice, fine dining vibe inside and the restaurant was decorated beautifully and was much larger than appears from the exterior. The valet parking was super convenient.

I had a great night at the oak house. From the second I sat at the bar, Baze set a great impression. Professional, experienced and completely dialed in. He was attentive without being intrusive as it was my first time there and I was on a date. He knew exactly how to read the room. That kind of service makes a difference. I ordered the Pears and Lychee cocktail and it was excellent and made with precision. On Baze’s recommendation, I went with the peach glazed wings and the short rib. Both delivered. The wings had real flavor with a good caramelized finish, and the short rib was very good and cooked perfect. What stood out most was the consistency in service. Baze stayed on top of everything and made sure the night ran smoothly. It’s rare to find a spot that gets both the food and the hospitality right. He definitely helped make it a strong date night. I’ll definitely be back.

What can I say, few dining experiences are comparable to childhood Christmas’s, but dining at the Oak house is a close rival. Between the always CONSISTENT food and chipper service by the entire staff, never had anything to complain about. There is also something to be said about the stunning ambiance inside the dining room and bar areas. You can tell the choice of Soot lighting at the bar was carefully cultivated. After a week of eating out in Manhattan, I decided to stay local and have dinner with my family at Oak House in River Edge, NJ. I was so glad I did!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly and attentive staff. The Hostess, Olivia and Server Amanda were amazing. After struggling on what to order Olivia and Amanda both gave us their list of favourites which did tick all our boxes and throughout the evening they checked in making sure everything was perfect.
We started with the calamari and a salad and for our main courses, we had BBQ ribs, free range roast chicken, steak sandwich, and burger. Everything was cooked to perfection and the flavours were incredible. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. The steak sandwich was made with a perfectly cooked ribeye steak and the burger was juicy and delicious. We finished the evening with a decadent chocolate brownie with ice cream.
Overall, our experience at Oak House was outstanding. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting, big thanks again Olivia and Amanda you created the perfect end to my whirlwind NY/NJ trip.
I highly recommend Oak House to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

But the true star of the evening was the main course: the rigatoni with short rib and parmesan cream sauce, complemented by tender asparagus and earthy mushrooms. Every bite was rich, comforting, and expertly balanced — a dish that will stay with you long after the meal is over.
