Definitely don’t stop here for the food. Coffee was good service was great. Ordered the chicken fried steak, hash browns extra crispy, and toast.
I think they took the sole from a boot and dumped salt on it, I could barely cut it with a knife and only had one bite of it, one I instantly regretted, the potatos were a glob of grease mushed together, eggs were good, toast was soggy.
Took a long time to get my food, even though there was only a couple other people. To top the experience off, the food was barely warm.
Nowhere near worth the $22 I was charged.

We were staying in Weaverville and went out to breakfast here on a Sunday. Got there at about 9:30 and got a nice booth by the window. Food was the usual fare at an American diner. I got the Spanish omelette with cheddar and a biscuit with gravy instead of toast. I loved how easy it was to customize your meal. My partner got the chicken fried steak and a pancake instead of his toast. The Omelette was perfect, not too big and not dry at all. The gravy for the biscuit was savory and not too peppery, and nice and creamy. The pancake was perfectly toasty and had a nice chew. All in all it was a perfect breakfast and I highly recommend it. Staff was friendly too.

I have a nephew in town and I was really really hungry and I decided to give the Nugget a chance. My husband and I went in for dinner and we split eggs over easy with crispy hash browns and bacon and I believe some biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked to perfection. I mean I’m really picky about how my eggs are done and very very snobby when it comes to gravy and if it’s too salty. I had no complaints of anything.
I enjoyed every single bite and I have to say that Myra the waitress was just a wonderful wonderful addition to the ambience of the restaurant. She is friendly/professional/informative/personal/happy/kind/authentic/endearing.
When I come to town again I will be visiting the Nugget and hoping that Myra is there. Thank you nugget for a wonderful experience in Weaverville and thank you Myra for a wonderful experience at dinner.

We’ve had a few breakfasts here, always good, and then we tried a few slices of different pies for a late evening snack. Holy cow, the pies were amazing. I am going to have a hard time not going back for more every day, especially until I try every kind. Probably some of the best pie I’ve had. I have no pictures because it was so good we ate it before it even occurred to us to take a picture.

Myra is such a doll! Wow she really made our dining experience feel like we were welcomed home. Loved, appreciated, and needed that hospitality!
The steak was cooked perfect and tasted great. The pork chops as well.
If you’re going to eat here then the dessert is an absolute MUST!!!! So many choices and all are homemade deliciousness.

A cute little restaurant. When we got there nobody was there but a few more groups came in shortly. The waitress was very friendly. I ordered a patty melt and it was amazing! I normally remember to ask for no onions but I’m glad I forgot, it was amazing just as it comes!!!! I would have given five stars but the fries were less than spectacular.

The nugget is a halfway point on my journey to Crescent city CA and the 2 times I stopped there for breakfast was amazing! The staff was super friendly and the prices were very fair

We came in for breakfast late in the morning, there were 3 waitresses that I could see, the younger one took our order with a very poor attitude right from the beginning, we waited 45 minutes for our food. The other customers started making comments to us about how we had been forgotten, we tried to be understanding because we knew it was busy that morning. When our food finally arrived it was a total disappointment, the waitress didn’t even talk to us as she just threw the plates on the table, I was appalled at the discourtesy of said waitress and the awful looking food I had been just served. The hash-browns were burnt on the outside and mushy on the inside. I began to ask her kindly if she thought it was ok to serve that food to someone who had been waiting that long. Instead of finding out what was wrong with the food (although it was obvious) the waitress proceeded to question my taste, telling me “some people like them like that” I told her the sight of the food was rough and she said “that’s exactly how my day is going”. Now, with a stern tone I continued trying to explain to her that I was not OK to serve that food to someone that is paying for someone else to cook and be served with a decent meal. As she proceeded to argue with me, (my mind melting in disbelief at the lack of professionalism) another customer waiting to pay, told her all she had to do was take back that food, and bring back food that was not burnt, and to not argue with her customers. Then she proceeded to argue with said customer. She continued to loudly state, how awful her day was going, to which I replied that in such scenario it was no longer the customers fault and I asked to talk to someone else. At that point, I asked her to stop talking to me, and I was no longer willing to listen to such a childish adult, it was like talking to a teenager throwing a tantrum because she’s desperate for attention. The two older waitresses were kind, efficient, and understanding. They offered to “discount” the burnt hash-browns, but I explained to them that none of this had to do with money or discounts. We would be happy to pay for ALL the food, had our issue been resolved quick and efficiently. WE ALL LEFT WITHOUT EATING, AND A REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE THAT MAY KEEP US FROM COMING BACK and most definitely will share this story with all our friends and family. The place is great, the staff is mostly kind and professional, but that waitress who hates her life in that restaurant, needs to find a different place to work, because if she is miserable while working, she’s going to make the customers day miserable as well. Her need of attention is not the kind of attention a restaurant or any business needs.

This is a typical, old school diner with wholesome, nothing fancy, American-style food. The service is excellent with friendly and efficient waitstaff.
However, I found the food to be a little too typical. Everything that I ordered seemed to be cooked on a flattop, even things that aren’t supposed to be. I ordered a chicken-fried steak but instead of a thinly pounded steak coated in batter and then deep fried I received something like a thin burger that was dredged in flour and then cooked on the flattop (at least that is how it seemed to me). Nothing else seemed to be above average, if that. Still, it is comfort food and I will probably go back, eventually.
