Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere. There has obviously been a lot of thought into the menu to to create a good variety for everyone. The food was delicious from start to finish with each dish having quite a few impressive elements. You can tell how high quality the meat is and it really shines through.
It’s also good value for money with very reasonable prices. The design of the restaurant is also really fun and interesting with plenty to look at.

Will definitely be back soon!

Visited for dinner. What a superb venue, I really love the feel of the place inside. Cosy, great decor.

Food was absolutely amazing, lamb three ways was brilliantly cooked. The steak couldn’t be any better cooked to perfection and extremely tender. Banana sponge pudding was declious.

Was slightly a bit loud for me, but my hearing can be sensitive to noise and having lots of people around (didn’t feel crowded at all).

Visited a few times over the last few months since moving closer, I love the atmosphere, the staff and the food. Lucky to have less than 10 minutes away ❤️

Dinner at Ranfield’s turned into one of those quietly special evenings. This stylish brasserie, where historic charm meets refined, seasonal cooking, offered a warm, historic setting and a relaxed pace, with flavours and ambience that genuinely surprised us.

The clear standouts were the Pan Fried King Scallops and Slow Cooked Beef Short Ribs — both well-balanced and carefully cooked. Their menu showcases British ingredients, prepared with care and creativity.

A refined, cosy spot for anyone looking for a quality dinner in Essex.

A nice experience but some attention to detail missing. They seemed a little rush – maybe short staffed the night we were there. The food was good but the triple cooked chips were defo not triple cooked! Presented with a card machine but no bill beforehand, and then once the bill arrived it was clearly mixed up with another customers order also. All corrected but more care needed.

Staff members are lovely, food was mediocre. What seemed to be the manager or owner continuously hovering over staff members giving them jobs to do. Seemed to be focused on the money instead of the happiness of customers. I wouldn’t come here again just because the environment seemed tense…

Amazing roast dinner. Had the Venison starter and beef roast. Service was first class, lovely atmosphere and the food was delicious, can’t fault it

My Sister and I had the Sunday lunch menu and it was first class. Nothing was too much trouble. Our waitress Darcie, as were all the staff, was very polite, friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend this establishment!

Visited for the 4th time this weekend and every course on every occasion has been great. Had the 10oz ribeye last night which was comfortably one of the best steaks I’ve ever had and at a very reasonable price point (£32 for a 50 day dry-aged ribeye including sides). Great food, great service, and a warm comfortable atmosphere.

Went for my birthday on a Wednesday night. Had the restaurant to ourselves as two other tables telephoned to cancel while we were there.
Food was fantastic, waiter was fantastic. Shocking that people don’t support local restaurants.
