A gem of a restaurant with great food and even better people. Food arrived in good time, and we were well-tended to with beverage refills. Spectacular food that kicked-in some nostalgia of hometown, old-school cooking. Even the flavor of our beverages (lemonade and Coke) had some nostalgic magic to them. I come here for one thing and one thing only and that’s the baked potato with brisket, it’s portioned well, filling and most importantly delicious. It is exactly what you want and nothing more and nothing less. When I first came the lady at the counter was pleasant and helpful and it made me feel welcomed to come back. This spot is nearby to me and has become a go to post gym meal.

My shrimp and fish was bland with no seasoning. My fries were fine but I don’t like shoestring potatoes. My onion rings were stale. No tarter sauce was given. I was very disappointed. And the young lady who took the order over the phone was rude.

I ate here for the first time. It’s a very unassuming place that you know has been around forever because they make food that’s bad for you really good. After reading the reviews I tried the fish and shrimp dinner. The fish is a blend of breading and thickness and perfectly fried. I was worried it would be too salt but it wasn’t. It was great. The service was fast and friendly. Reminds me of the catfish frys I grew up going to in Louisiana. I’d go back when I’m in the area.
Hint: They do not serve cocktail sauce and you should as for extra tartar if you like it.
