This is a great spot in an unassuming American small town. The steak is probably the best steak I have had at a locally owned family run restaurant in a long time if not ever. The Friday fish fry is very good and the atmosphere is what you would expect at a place like this. But the food isn’t, it is great.

I ordered the salad bar, but was disappointed when I opened the lid to the lettuce bin, and it was just cut up iceberg lettuce that was brown around the edges. I’m sure it was leftover from the previous day. $10.99.

Had our first meal at the NTMI. I ordered a cheeseburger with fries. It was pretty darn good. Cooked to the right temp and juicy. What almost ruined a good meal was the service. I’ve never been waited on by a more disinterested waitress in my entire life. We weren’t a difficult table by any stretch but she was just plain miserable. My advice would be to keep doing what you’re doing in the kitchen, but re-evaluate, retrain your staff, or you will turn too many people away based on service.
Update 7/21/2024: Moving from 2 to 4 stars. Have been back a few times and the service has been great. Meals have not disappointed.

Food was good but service was not great. It looked obvious that the servers didn’t wanna be at work, not the best attitudes either. We ordered our drinks they came quick but it took them at least a half an hour to take our food orders. Then it took almost an hour for our food to arrive. My taco wrap was barely warm. My advice to the unhappy wait staff is if you don’t like your job then get a job where you’re more happy and enjoy the work.
