Visited The New Spot on Polk Street for breakfast/brunch. Overall, it was an okay experience. Service was average, no mad notes, just nothing standout. I ordered a breakfast skillet and a lemon mimosa; both were decent. The biscuits were good, and the pancakes were definitely the highlight — really good and worth ordering. Everything else was fine, but nothing made me rush to come back. Solid spot if you’re in the area, but there’s room to elevate the overall experience.

Do not make the same mistake that I did by relying on the comments and coming to this establishment with high expectations. The food was terrible. The patrons here have clearly not idea of what Southern food should be, this is cultural appropriation at its worst. I had the so called Fried Chicken breakfast and was served with a coated thing that had no chicken but some mix of unidentified mince meat, the potatoes were tasteless and burnt and no biscuit was served. Waste of time and money. They also charged 3% if you pay by credit card!! Do yourself a favor and take a ride to Brenda Soul Food.

Not handicap accessible. Accessibility is outside sitting in the sun. Potatoes not salt or peppered. Needed more overall. Biscuits and gravy not good.

What a gem. My friend who lives in SF took us to this place for “great amounts of food and quality” and truly couldn’t agree more. Beware of the fact that they are a breakfast-brunch-lunch dinner so close early 2-3 pm. But if that fits your schedule and you’re around the area it’s a must.
I don’t think I ever had such a crispy cod before, great fries and salad to go with it. Bacon burger salad was super good as well as the Chicken salad.

Delicious breakfast spot in a cool part of town! The chicken fried steak was incredible. The biscuits and gravy were also wonderful! Nice atmosphere

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A perfectly cozy, homemade-style breakfast

I’m visiting San Francisco as a tourist and discovered this restaurant on my second day in the city. I loved it so much that I ended up going back — and now I plan to have my breakfast there every day while I’m in town.

The food tastes like real homemade cooking: flavorful, comforting, and clearly prepared with care. The service was wonderful too — on Thursday I was helped by a very kind woman who made the experience even better.

The prices are great, but what truly impressed me was the quality. It’s been years since I’ve had such a delicious breakfast in the United States. Highly, highly recommended!

First time coming here and oh man glad we did! Was walking distance from our hotel so that was nice. I had the breakfast burrito w chorizo 10/10. Very good BUT next time I would order it with no sauce on top as it was super messy to eat and the tortilla got soggy fast! My boyfriend ordered two scrambled eggs, potatoes, and biscuits and gravy. He loved it! Will definitely be back next time we visit SF. Service 10/10.

This is an amazing breakfast spot we tried & totally loved it! Just a 7 minute walk from our hotel. Luan has the best personality & made our experience fun! Such a quaint & yummy place! The Eggs Benedict are so worth it! My husband had the Original & loved it! Homemade jam very good!

Stop by here for breakfast the other morning. Resturant was full in both their inside dinning area and outside dinning area but wait was minimal. Took a while once seated to get get greeted and drink orders placed but staff was friendly when we stopped the. Menu was expansive with many different options. Food came out hot and everyone at the table had nothing but great things to say about food and juices ordered. If you’re in the area I’d definitely say it’s worth the stop.

Appreciate this local spot for keeping it cozy, simple and comforting with a menu full of great options.
Popular brunch spot but never had to wait more than 15 mins. The service is friendly, fast and efficient.
Even on a cold summer sf day, the outdoor seating is quite nice with space heaters and fun people watching opportunity of the folks on polk street.
My usual favorite is either the hangover skillet or the south of the border skillet along with the classic waffles.
