The National Hotel Restaurant

  4.4 – 91 reviews   • American restaurant

We have both indoor and outdoor dining. A great bar with multiple specialty drink selection as well as all the good old favorites. Downstairs in the Rathskeller “the rat” you can enjoy open mic nights, karaoke, live music and a great time in what is a historic speakeasy from back in the day.

The menu is eclectic with great quality food. Never had a bad anything here. Creative drinks, great tap selection. Has an Asian flair to the food but also steady American choices (hamburger, steak, etc), so there’s a nice spectrum of flavors. Vegetarian options are stellar.

I can not thank Pete DeCosta and his hotel staff for such a beautiful and enjoyable wedding. My daughters and I started planning her wedding, a year ago during lockdown, not knowing what would happen with the pandemic. We needed a small venue that would be the right size for our family. We immediately booked our bridal party rooms when we saw how gorgeous the rooms were. Plus, Frenchtown, New Jersey has the exact Fall, rustic charm we were looking for. The prices are very reasonable for that area, that time of year.

Went for dinner last night with friends. Everybody loved their meals. The building is very cool. Old and has a bar downstairs with a couple of adjoining rooms if you had a group to just hang out play foosball, have drinks. Very nice staff !!great service!!

Great food, great drinks. Both times we were there the bartenders were awesome. Best place in Frenchtown to grab a quick bite or a full meal.

Celebrated our daughter’s birthday there with a party of 8 on a Saturday evening. Drink options are excellent, with lots of choices of beer, wine, etc. Service was a bit off (forgotten sides, lack of water refills), and there was some miscommunication from the kitchen to the wait staff.

Came for brunch and was not disappointed. There was a $15 special that came with a breakfast cocktail and an entree. I had a “breakfast burger” which had a fried egg and hollandaise sauce, with a side salad. It was excellent, if a little messy. Our table split slices of limoncello and cheesecake for desert, both of which I thought were outstanding.

They have amazing cocktails. They have a great selection and give you the whole shaker if you order a type of martini. Food was excellent as well. Service was excellent. Staff is very personable.

I have eaten here 6 different times and every time the food was fantastic. The service is also good but waitress staff is what it is sometimes great and sometimes it just is what it is. Not a bad thing but just can’t go to 5 stars.
