National Exemplar never disappoints! Stopped in on a Saturday night and started with a drink at Sotherby’s – the vibe is always perfectly cozy and welcoming. Once our table was ready, we were lucky to have Mary as our server. She was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive from start to finish. She recommended the pot roast (which was on special), and even had it split three ways for our table since we all wanted to try it, such a thoughtful touch!
We also shared the dates and mussels as appetizers, both were outstanding. And the chocolate cake with olive oil and sea salt for dessert was absolutely divine!
Always will recommend this place, one of my favorite neighborhood gems!

Very good restaurant with beautifully traditional decor. The seafood linguine is really good and so is the hungarian mushroom soup. The staff are very polite and attentive to customers, they bring complementary bread before the meal. The prices are reasonable, for the most part. I went to the National Exemplar for New Years Eve and it was a great experience.

I came here for breakfast and was super satisfied with my experience. It was on Valentine’s Day but I was able to join the waitlist and get seated fairly quick before coming in. It was busy but my service was still great. I got a basic breakfast and it was super yummy but nothing extraordinary. It was beautiful inside and Mariemont is such a cute little town. Perfect place and will definitely be back again!

It’s was my 53rd birthday dinner and they had a table with a “Happy Birthday” greeting waiting for me. The service was excellent and attentive. The prime rib was quite simply the best I’ve ever had — tender and flavorful! The whipped potatoes were also delicious! And the “40 Year Old Fashioned” was the best post-dinner cocktail, served complete with a signature ice cube. I would recommend this place for anyone celebrating any occasion. Thanks for the excellent birthday meal, guys! You made this Pop-Pop feel very special!

Grace C. Was our server and she is a 10 outta 10! Grace was friendly, patient and kind. Grace handled my friends (a recovering cancer patients) very specific order and requirements like a real professional. We took a long time before ordering and Grace just mentioned to “put out the salt shaker when we were ready”. The food was delicious the atmosphere with the fireplace on a 24 degree day was cozy and the service from Grace was outstanding. 10 outa 10 and give that girl a raise!!!
