The Well-Wandered Traveller
The Mule in Hamilton is an excellent spot for tacos and a really enjoyable dining experience. The moment we arrived, we noticed the energetic, trendy vibe- lively music, warm lighting, and a fun, modern atmosphere that immediately sets the tone for a great meal. There’s also a small patio that looks like it would be perfect to enjoy in the warmer months.
The service was impressive from start to finish. Our server was quick, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. They guided us through the different taco options with confidence and helped us choose a great mix to try. Every taco we sampled was flavourful, fresh, and well-prepared, making it easy to see why the place is so popular.
We ordered beer, which was excellent, crisp, and paired really well with the food. The margarita, however, wasn’t our favourite- the watermelon flavour was a bit overpowering, so we’d probably skip that next time. But with so many other drink options available, it’s easy to find something that suits your taste.
Parking was also convenient. There’s a paid lot right next door, which makes getting in and out of the restaurant much easier, especially during busy times.
Overall, The Mule offered a great experience: fantastic tacos, quick and knowledgeable service, cool ambiance, and convenient parking. We’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu- and maybe that patio once the weather warms up.

Mexican food and taco place!!! Perhaps the best in Hamilton. The tacos are always fresh, delicious and tasty. There’s gluten free options, various tacos to choose from along with sides such as guacamole or quesa dip. The margaritas here are scrumptious!
The mule is known for its good food so it is often busy and booked, I would recommend if coming here on a weekend to book reservations ahead of time.
The space is open, music is usually playing and it sometimes can be loud, not too loud that you can’t hear the person beside you.

Tried this “Mexican” restaurant recently. Interesting that they were playing everything except Latin music. We ordered 8 tacos and 3 red slushie drinks (2 with alcohol). Drinks were great and the jerk chicken and brisket tacos were 10/10.
Service was quick — we were in and out in about 40 minutes. Staff were friendly, but the bar stools were small and uncomfortable.
Total was $118 with tip, which felt a bit pricey. I’ve had a similar meal at an authentic Mexican spot in Montreal for about half the price.
Overall a good experience. I’d come back, but probably only once or twice a year. 7.5/10.

Been here many times. This time thought to leave a review. Came here last night with my wife. Service was excellent. We had a mix of tacos. For me, Habanero Brisket and Jerk Chicken tacos were both great. My wife enjoyed her fish tacos and the Cease and Desist tacos. Paired them with some cocktails and great music, and we had a great night. I also highly recommend this place when the nice weather returns and they have outdoor seating.

Passed by after the Saturday Night CFL eastern final. The Hamilton Tiger Cats game for a 7:30pm reservation. Julia was sweet and got me in early, I was an hour early. Alex served me, he was fantastic. I ordered so many great items on the menu. Everything was delicious & the prices were reasonable, top notch service. Stopped in for lunch after an event down town. Love the old and new vibes of the location. Staff were super friendly, our server Kailey was very nice. Food was 10/10, the fish and nashville chicken tacos were a favourite. Chips and salsa to share was also amazing. Would definitely come back or recommend to anyone in the area.

This restaurant is designated gluten-free and peanut free. The menu is also marked with vegetarian and vegan items. Very allergy friendly. The food here was absolutely amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. I really liked the guacamole the best of all the dips.

Raised the price, shrunk the tacos. Used to be $30 for four tiny tacos, now it’s $35 and somehow even smaller. How you even manage to do that? $9 gets you 1 oz of meat, 1 oz of veggies (0.7 oz of that is chives), and sauce. Ridiculous. And the bags? Amusingly huge, like they’re packed for 20 orders instead of one.

The service here was absolutely stellar. Not only was the hostess so accommodating and helpful, but the bartenders and servers were always quick to notice if you were finishing a drink, a dish, or had your eye on something on the menu. The staff were positive, polite, and even offered to change the channel on the TV to something of my liking.
The food I ordered was very creative, modern and tasty. Well worth the price. I will definitely be going back.
