I love corned beef hash and over medium eggs and theirs was cooked to perfection. The staff are amazing, attentive, and couldn’t possibly be any nicer. I’m visiting and have made this my regular breakfast stop while I’m here. I’ll actually miss them when I head back south. I’ll be coming back my next trip up. Dex loves everyone there too!

The Mug has always been low-key, but that was always part of the charm. Now it’s become a bit of a liability.
From the person at the “welcome” stand who barely puts forth an effort to make themselves understood to the wait staff who angrily chases people back when they try to seat themselves (which they have been used to doing for years), the charm of the cozy little breakfast place is very much offset by the lack of welcome from the people working the establishment.
The place has undergone night and day change since the change in ownership / management, and not it a good way. People are walking in on a Saturday midmorning, seeing half the tables empty, and walking out when they’re told that the wait *just to be seated* will be “at least 20 minutes.” The food is decent, but takes a lot longer than it used to.
Whatever the root cause, the changed atmosphere has driven a significant number of former regulars to seek a new spot to enjoy their breakfast.

Very poor value. The atmosphere is beyond grungy. Old carpet and at least 40 year old greasy captains chairs. Dark and dreary. Very expensive for mediocre food and such a depressing place. They use the cheapest bread and English muffins you can find and put a ridiculous price on it. If you ask for butter they smear disgusting margarine all over it. Such a gross yucky place and pricey for the awful food! I have GI distress for 2 days after eating here!

Food wasn’t the best but it’s cheap and quick service. Eggs a bit runny and blueberries in the pancake not fully thawed. Waitress was fast, friendly and attentive (even during a busy time of the morning).
Excellent service, great prices, not the greatest meal. Still worth a try if you are in the area in my opinion

The food was delicious. The service was horrendous. Too many teenagers workers. It wasn’t too busy so they we chatting and not overly paying attention to their customers or people coming in

I stopped by to grab breakfast on a Tuesday morning. Place had a decent crowd at 8am. Service was great, coffee was hot and the food was served quickly and was delicious!

Came for the three-eggs egg Benedict, and was a bit surprised how good it was. Sadly, no cocktails are available. Standard old dark wood interior. Could use a remake there, but I’ll come back for breakfast for sure

This place has a lot of potential. The environment and people are great but the food is inedible. The corn beef hash is Hormel (from a can) not even fried crispy and if you get cheese on top of something, expect it to come out of a Kraft presliced package (partially melted).

Haven’t been here on a while, but it hasn’t changed. Great breakfast. I had two eggs over easy, a grilled English Muffin, bacon and coffee. The eggs were fresh and cooked just the way I like them. The English Muffin was perfectly grilled and tasty. No complaints about the service. It was very very good. I’ll be coming back again for more. I highly recommend!
