The Mountain Fountain is a Colorado-Made Country Store. The store, built in 1945 and originally the Clark Food Store, is located in the town of Hygiene, Colorado and has recently reopened as The Mountain Fountain. Without changing any of the original character of the place, we are adding to it by bringing in items from all over Colorado. We support our local Hygiene farms and ranches, as well as the many Colorado and regional food producers and makers.The Mountain Fountain features a dedicated gluten free bakery; a coffee bar; a wide variety of bottled drinks including beer & wine; a sandwich deli (with gluten free options) and a butcher shop with fresh, locally pastured meats from just 2 miles away, including 100% Grass fed beef and lamb.

10/10 will return ! So excited about an entire gluten free form to fill out I ordered not one but two sandwiches along with a mocha raspberry iced coffee with coconut milk which was one of the best I have had! The entire place was full of items to purchase and eat or decorate with or gift give! Hope to return again soon ! Parking is a bit slim but seems most folks are in and out so just have a bit of patience and you will be set!

People here are very friendly, food and coffee is fantastic. Tried the quiche, it was tasty. They have cute birthday cards and other occasional cards for your needs. The gift shop is fantastic as well. It’s a great little market to stop by if you have time and bring the family along for an adventure. It’s just very busy on weekends.

We love going out of our way on a weekend day to go to this fun country store. They have yummy sandwiches. As a celiac, I love going for all the gluten-free goodies they have (pies, breads, pot pies, etc.) They also have local meats and various goodies. This little gem is well known to the local cyclists. So keep an eye out for bikes on the way there.

As a gluten free girl, I have to say this place is amazing. I love that I can build my own sandwich and they have so so so many choices I can have for that and we have tried so many baked goods and never been disappointed! I’m gluten free and my partner is allergic to nuts – the staff is always incredibly helpful navigating that and we never have to worry. The market ambience is super charming, and carries a lot of hard to find products that I haven’t seen other places. Highly recommend mountain fountain!

Hygienes own Mountain Fountain, the one and only. This area is lucky to have an actual well managed health food restaurant. Big drink menu with worthy coffee and etc.

At first sight it seems that this place is in the middle of nowhere. But if you live in Hygiene, it is obviously not nowhere, but more interestingly if you bike around it is definitely not in the middle of nowhere.
The place has this vintage vibe with high ceiling and a lot of room.
