I wanted to have the High Tea experience, but it was until 2:30 p.m., and that was not ok. Aternoon tea is served around 4:00 or 5:00 ( in England and Ireland at least) and High Tea is later, so we decided to go for dinner. Chef John greeted us like we were family, and our waitress was very nice. Unfortunately my appetizer was cold (scallops), my friend’s steak was overcooked, but the tartlet was excellent. On the other hand, the price for the Brie with figs appetizer and baguette was way too much ($24). They did ask if everything was ok right from the start, but as we went through our food, we were a bit dissapointed. Everything needed a bit more character, but it was fresh. Portions are good. There was a great musician playing inside, but it was a nice night, and decided to sit outside so we could talk quietly. At the end of our meal, the waitress told us the musician was leaving so we could give him a tip! We sat outside so we didn’t have to listen to the loud music,so why would I tip him? I will give it 1 more chance, just because John was so nice!

Bistro French by Chef John Rossetti in Mount Dora is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance is warm, intimate, and beautifully done. The service was truly outstanding—attentive, knowledgeable, and welcoming without ever feeling rushed. And the desserts… simply fantastic. Every bite felt thoughtfully crafted and indulgent. This is the kind of place that stays with you long after the meal is over. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates exceptional French cuisine.

Chef John is one of the most amazing talented chefs/person ever!! He had created an atmosphere of warmth. His team may be small but they have the biggest hearts and you can feel the care and love they put into their food and service!! Thank you so much for an amazing birthday experience!!! High Tea was an outstanding experience and we will be back to try everything else on your menu as well as to enjoy the company again!!!

I don’t need to write a long review because I think this picture says enough. I ordered steak frites and was served this: canned potato sticks on a well done steak for $38. Appetizers were cold and they use nespresso pods instead of brewing fresh coffee. It’s obvious to me that they like to cut corners. They demand fine dining prices but fall completely short of the quality. The chef was very nice but I don’t ever see myself coming back.

We were trying to find something to do while our husbands were busy in meetings all day and came across the afternoon in Paris experience at Mount Dora Bistro. We made an online reservation and as soon as we got there our server Mrs Maggie was the sweetest, we did not know what to expect ( I ve never had high tea before ), she gave us a menu of all the teas and the health benefits, Chef John came and explained the 3 tier meal, the service started with choice of champagne or non alcoholic cider, then proceeded to the tea (I chose the crème brûlée one), we enjoyed from macaroons, strawberries, cream and like a chocolate mouse that was delicious, we also had croissants with a caramelized apple jam and Brie, there was salad and some really crunchy and delicious canapés, some with olive, tuna. But the most exciting part was that before starting the whole experience they provided these really cute English royal hats! I mean we truly felt royals!

If you’re looking for delish French food and high tea, the new Mount Dora Bistro (where the former Windsor Rose tea room was) is just superb. Everything is made in-house, the staff are friendly and attentive, prices are reasonable, indoor and outdoor garden seating, and a huge menu, including classics like vichysoisse, escargot, coq au vin, fondue, etc. Absolutely divine! Tracy took great care of us and we will definitely be back!

This is not just a restaurant is an encounter with taste and flavor. It was my first time and definitely not the last. You are treated like family and you can’t go home without a smile from chef John and Adonis who are the owners. The food was incredibly good and by the way is all made to order because is all fresh ingredients. Love the atmosphere and the warmth of the staff. We need more businesses like this. Gave it a 5 because there was not a 10 scale.

My family and I loved this place so much that we went twice in one day! We started with the afternoon tea, which was such a fun and memorable experience. The atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and everything—from the teas to the beautifully handmade food—was absolutely delectable.

We came back for dinner, and I was beyond impressed. The steak au poivre is truly the best steak I have ever had—I still can’t stop thinking about it! John is an amazing chef and an even better host; he makes you feel like you’ve been friends for a lifetime.

I will be returning every time I’m in Mount Dora!

We went to this place expecting a “Le Coq au Vin” experience but what a disappointment we got, from way over priced to the food not been French at all nor that big of a deal steak with mash and veggies is more of an american thing, we got our food and hour latter after been seated everything was cold except the steak honesty you can get the same at Chillis for a fraction of the price. We got fooled to go there once but never again.
