I have to say, the food was fantastic and I regret not going sooner! The fried chicken was piping hot, crispy, and juicy! The special came with 4 pieces and two sides. The catfish bites were heaped on the plate, seasoned perfectly, and moist!! Both plates were $17, a great value for the portion size! The tea also deserved a special shout out, as it was nice and dark brewed with a good ratio of tea and water!
All in all, a fantastic restaurant in a lively bar setting. The food, value, and the service were all great. Definitely deserves a spot on your list to try out, located in Johnston City.
We have been looking forward to stopping in. Had heard nothing but good things about the food. Had great service, there is plenty of parking and seating inside.
We decided on the chicken dinner and ordered a add on a side of their chicken and dumplings. The portions were very large. The chicken came out hot and juicy. The dumplings were on point. Mashed potatoes, gravy, choice of corn or green beans, and homemade bread.
The live entertainment a bonus, David and Deanna, were fantastic, enjoyed them very much. Wish we could have stayed for all of their set.
We are looking forward to returning to try some of their other menu options.
I will also say that the food tonight was excellent, along with the service.
We will come back again.
Went on 12/03/26 for a birthday dinner. There ended up being 13 of us. There were a few people at the bar and a few seated at other tables as well but definitely not 150 to 180 people in there. It took a long time to get our drinks, then those of us who had side salads got our salads. The waitress comes back with a fry tray and says she apologizes but they only have plastic forks at the moment, and that she promised that we would have regular silverware by the time our entrees came up. We did eventually get silverware but it took a while.
I ordered a steak with a baked potato with butter and shredded cheese on the potato. I never received the cheese. Others ordered steak sandwiches that had to be sent back because they were over cooked. One had a steak that was cooked on one side but barely saw a grill on the other side. One got chicken alfredo, and they didn’t even put the chicken in it. It was brought out in a bowl well after we got our meals. My steak was tough, as was my husband’s.
When I commented to the waitress that I never received my cheese, her only response was well I didn’t upcharge you for it so its ok. Sorry what? No, it wasn’t ok.
Also, the place was full of smoke from the grill. It was hard to breathe and burned our eyes, and we left smelling like we had been in the kitchen cooking our meals.
When my husband called to speak with the owner about it all, the owner proceeded to tell him that we were not at his establishment because they don’t use plastic cutlery. We proceeded to tell him that we were indeed there and picture proof of that. Then it changed to they had at least 150 people in there if they had ran out of metal silverware. No, I promise they did not have that many people in there while we were there. Our reservation was for 6 pm. We finally concluded our meal and left at approximately 8 pm. The salads were the best part of our entire meals. The cheapest meal any of us had was at least 15 bucks. Several of us left hungry because our meal was terrible.
The owner did NOT care about our complaints, argued with us and told us bad food and service happens.
10 out of 10 don’t recommend going there. If I could give it negative stars, i would. Its went downhill severely since the first time we were ever there. Now I see why, management sucks. I also feel bad for the employees.
