Every year on New Year’s Day, my friend and I meet up for lunch since we are the only ones in NJ. It’s always an Asian restaurant since they’re typically the only ones who are open. Neither of us tried the Moon yet so we decided to check it out. I was able to easily make a reservation via Yelp for 6 people for 12:30 (4 adults + 2 toddlers). For the most part, we already knew what we wanted to order, so we placed an order for the BBQ items and hot pot meats first. Only the meats are the items you need to order. Everything else, you grab at the buffet – including seafood, fish balls, veggies, and noodles.
The BBQ items are just okay, but that tends to be the case with you have hot pot + BBQ. The hot pot beef was good but the lamb was super gamey, which turned my broth into a gamey lamb flavor, making everything else I cooked in there have a trace of that too. Bottom line – skip the lamb. As for the buffet, they have a lot of options. Aside from the typical hot pot items, they also have some Korean dishes like kimbap, japchae, kimchi, as well as some fried items.
I don’t think I liked the Moon enough for a return trip. It’s also slightly pricier than other hot pot + KBBQ spots, so I think I’ll check out some of the other ones next time.

Coming to this place for the first time with my family & everyone enjoyed it and loved the atmosphere.
The service is amazing! I would highly recommend for people even if you’re just going to try it, you will not be disappointed! I’ve gone to others by myself and it doesn’t compare to this place! Ana was so sweet to my family since it was their first time and her service was amazing! Will definitely be coming back! And the other people are also sweet with recommendations and telling us how to navigate the cooking!

There’s nothing better than a delicious hot pot meal on a chilly night.
There are so many choices, it’s honestly overwhelming in a good way! I like that you get to walk around the buffet and pick your own seafood, vegetables, noodles, etc etc. Everything was so fresh, and meat was very tender.
There’s also some cooked food including kimbap, ttokeboki, fried rice, wings, and soups. Everything I tried was delicious.
Even their vanilla soft serve, which you’d assume to be basic, has something special in it. It almost tasted condensed milk flavored. They have a shaved ice bar, and creme brulee, as well as an assortment of fresh cut fruit to end your meal.
Service here is amazing! When you’re cooking your own food, a lot of spots forget they need to offer any at all. Jerico guided us through our first Moon experience suggesting which delicious meats to choose from, and he was always checking in on us. Ana is such a ray of sunshine, she’s so attentive and sweet. I saw the way she took care of other customers and their kids too, she’s so kind and engaged.
Can’t wait to be back and also give the Korean BBQ a try :))

Ana is so sweet. We had a wonderful experience thanks to her. She treated our children with such kindness and patience, and she was equally respectful and attentive to my parents. It’s not easy to balance different generations at one table, but she did it so naturally and warmly. Her thoughtful service truly made our family meal special. This place is absolutely phenomenal! From the variety to the quality to the amazing staff — everything was top-notch. Jerico – that man deserves a raise! He was so kind, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our table had everything we needed. We came on a different night and Ana was our server and she was also absolutely fantastic — so kind and attentive and knew what we wanted before we even asked. The level of service you get here is incredible. Honestly, everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. There was never a dirty plate on our table as the staff was extremely prompt in making sure that our table was always cleaned.

We ordered the Supermoon set (BBQ and Shabu), and everything was delicious and fresh. Even our 9-month-old daughter enjoyed the experience! Great food, great service, and such a welcoming atmosphere.
