Despite the bustling crowd, the service remained prompt and attentive, ensuring that our evening flowed seamlessly.
The rustic decor added to the ambiance, evoking a cozy cabin atmosphere that enhanced our dining experience.
Without a doubt, I highly recommend The Montana Club to anyone seeking exceptional food, great service, and a memorable dining experience. We are already planning our next visit, eager to indulge again.
Second problem, ordered the Hamburger Stew. This is FAR from a stew! A couple pieces of ground meat and pasta does NOT constitute a “Stew”! A “Stew” is supposed to be “Thick and Hearty”
Third and final problem: Ordered the “Blackened Shrimp” and pasta. The shrimp was anything and far from being “Blackened”! Looked like it was slightly grilled at best.
What came out food wise was average tasting at best. The staff and service were good, but the food did not meet ANY type of expectations I had for ANY TYPE of a steak place. Especially being in Montana.
A commercial steak house has better food cheaper
When I arrived, I was immediately taken to the table where my sister and brother-in-law were already sitting with their menus (they had just been seated a few minutes they said). I was given a menu. Then we waited for over 25 minutes and NO ONE came back to our table with water or to take our order. So we gave it a few more minutes, still NO ONE came to our table. So we got up and left, none of the employees even noticed.
We went to Dante’s Creative Dining and had an amazing meal with exceptional service.
We will not be returning to The Montana Club anytime soon.

When we walked in, the restaurant wasn’t busy at all (go figure, right…considering the time we arrived). Our hostess didn’t seem as enthusiastic when we walked in (perhaps she just had a rough day at home and/or work), so I try not to have that affect my rating of a restaurant as much unless it was significantly negative…but it was clearly noticeable. Regardless, she still sat us down and away from other customers, which I appreciated. On the other hand, our main server, Shelby, did such a phenomenal job the entire evening. She was very friendly; highly efficient, professional, attentive, and operated at a fast speed…these are traits that other employees could learn to emulate in Great Falls. More often than not, service at restaurants tend to go downhill towards closing hours because everyone is excited to go home, so the service can be hit-or-miss at times. But there’s no doubt about Shelby’s profound customer service and what she brought to the table (figuratively and literally), especially during the final hour of her shift.
We ordered the 8-piece Buffalo-flavored Wings for our appetizer; Huckleberry Filet w/Creamy Southwest Chicken Soup, Chicken Parmesan w/Caesar Salad, and Seafood Primavera w/Clam Chowder for our entrées; and Huckleberry Crème Brûlée for our dessert. The wings were pretty spicy; normally, I love spicy food, but as I’ve gotten older, it seems my tolerance has significantly declined. The flavor of the sauce was slightly different from the majority of Buffalo Wings I’ve tried in and out of this country…but, it was different in a magnificent way. The Chicken Parmesan was flavorful and could probably feed 300 Roman soldiers (ok, not that drastic, but you know what I mean). The Seafood Primavera was just ok; I’ve definitely had my fair share of outstanding seafood-centric pastas in my life, especially in Las Vegas…but unfortunately, this entrée didn’t do it for me. Both soups were good and the Huckleberry Crème Brûlée was the star performer of the evening! The Huckleberry Filet had a nice char and was adequately seasoned; however, the temperature wasn’t accurate to what we ordered (we received rare-to-medium rare, when we ordered medium). Fortunately, Shelby was nice enough to take back the steak and have it placed on the grill longer. When the steak was brought back out, it seemed that they cooked an entirely new steak which we appreciated, but it still was cooked around medium rare. At this point, it was close to their closing hour so we just ate it (I didn’t mind it as much, but it was my wife’s steak).
I know some may argue with me, but I feel that the prices were very reasonable at this restaurant. I’ve had the luxury of trying restaurants of every caliber and believe me, the price-to-quantity/quality ratio is adequate. I especially respect this restaurant for their continued support to the active men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans – thank you for that! Overall, I recommend this restaurant to all locals and visitors.
Took 10 minutes before she got back to find out and give our check to us. We were ready with the credit card, so we workable lose her again. Maybe off night, but we won’t be back.
