The ingredients are incredibly fresh, the portions are generous, and every salad is packed with bold, balanced flavors. Whether you choose one of their signature creations or build your own, everything tastes thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The dressings are exceptional and truly elevate every bite.
What makes The Mixx stand out is the consistency, cleanliness, and friendly service. The team is always professional, fast, and attentive, making the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish.
Healthy, delicious, and satisfying — The Mixx isn’t just a salad place, it’s an experience. Without a doubt, the best place in the world to eat salad!
Highly recommended! ✨
I almost made the rookie mistake of showing up at The Mixx at noon, but a last-minute decision to arrive at 11:30am completely transformed my lunch experience! This bright, open-concept restaurant with its modern vibe was just starting to buzz when I walked in.
Craving something healthy yet satisfying, I ordered their half Pretzel Chicken Sando paired with half Garden of Eden salad – the perfect portion that left me feeling energized rather than sluggish. The cashier’s friendly smile made ordering a breeze, though I did encounter a small hiccup when several tables needed wiping down (nothing a quick self-service cleanup couldn’t fix).
What makes The Mixx special is their commitment to food that’s actually good for you – everything prepped from scratch using non-GMO certified ingredients without preservatives or high-fructose corn syrup. As Kansas City’s first healthy fast-casual spot (opened in 2005!), they’ve perfected the art of making nutritious food that doesn’t sacrifice flavor.
Pro tip: Arrive before noon to beat the rush and check out their specialty diet menus if you’re following Whole30, Paleo or Keto – they’ve got you covered! Oh..and I didn’t eat the cookies okay, even though I really wanted some!
Sometimes the best lunch decisions aren’t just about what you eat, but WHEN you eat it. The Mixx proves healthy can be both quick AND delicious! ⭐⭐⭐⭐
It took them 3 times to make my garden of Eden salad and even the third time they got it wrong. I asked for dressing on the side and sub goat cheese for bleu cheese. So my husband was half way through with his lunch before I finally got my salad with the right kind of cheese, but they still drenched it in dressing.
My pretzel chicken sandwich (1/2) was really small and the chicken was really tough, I couldn’t eat most of it.
The chicken tortilla soup was the best part.
Ordering in two separate places then trying to combine the ticket at the end wasn’t difficult, just a bit annoying.
They definitely have some misses to improve, but we like to have it for a healthy, quick option if the budget allows.
My wife and I arrived just after 12 noon on a Tuesday and the place was doing a brisk business. There were a few spots available to sit, which was nice consider considering how busy they were.
The instructions for ordering were very clear and we knew where to go and what to do. I appreciated that because of the many offerings they have.
We opted for a sandwich and soup rather than salad on this particular day.
I had the country club sandwich and the turkey was very good and of high-quality. The bread tasted a little bit stale with the edges and the crust being a little chewier than they should be.
The soup of the day was a lemon lentil soup and it was delicious. It was a vegetarian soup and I didn’t miss the meat at all.
My wife had a blue cheese and beef sandwich on a focaccia bread. The bread was amazing and the beef was amazing but the blue cheese was way too much. We both thought that there was too much sauce on it and it ruined the sandwich. We would preferred about 1/3 of the amount of sauce that they put on it. It really overpowered the sandwich and was not something we were able to finish. Her pasta salad was great!
We will likely return to try some other things as the concept and food quality are amazing.
Visited Mixx in Leawood hoping for a healthy bite, but left disappointed. My companion’s quinoa salad (an Asian shrimp version) was overloaded with bland quinoa and lacked flavor overall. My club sandwich came on bread that was dry around the edges, and the side salad had stale croutons. The ranch dressing was flat and barely tasted like ranch.
We tried a peanut butter cookie that was crumbly, flavorless, and neither chewy nor crispy—just fell apart. I asked for a replacement and got a pumpkin chocolate chip cookie, which was merely okay.
On the positive side, the counter staff was friendly and accommodating, and the place wasn’t crowded. However, the bright, sterile atmosphere felt uninviting.
I won’t be returning.
