Flavours are very good. I wouldn’t call it authentic but it’s very well executed.
Nice mix of Mexican beers (Pacifico, Modelo and Corona).
The only thing we didn’t like was the downstairs floor. There was a funky smell, after a while you get used to it but isn’t great, once that gets sorted it’s a 5 star place.
I had a pleasure to try their buffet and it’s going to be something special. The chicken mole is something I will love to have on my Sunday roast dinner. All staff is absolutely perfect. You will enjoy every single minute
Update: as per the receipt you can see I was indeed charged more for spicy salsa.
Can’t fault the service, all very friendly, and the food was stunning..
I would go back just for the potato and cheese side plate.
Delicious, highly recommend. Will be going back
That said, the portion sizes were very ungenerous for the price. For £67.03 (including service), we had a plate of 3 tacos, a plate of 2 tacos, a small nacho platter, a pint of beer, and a cocktail. There were no complimentary salsas or accompaniments, which are standard at many Mexican restaurants.
Paying £15 for tacos, I would expect 4–6 tacos with at least some chips or rice on the side to feel like a proper meal. Even a small bowl of complimentary salsa would have gone a long way. As it was, I left still feeling hungry.
For comparison, I recently visited a premium sit-down restaurant in Hertford where for £23 extra total covered a 3-course meal and 2 drinks – far better value.
I understand costs are high and businesses need to make money, but the value for money here just didn’t stack up.
