Best salmon tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Very chill and relaxing atmosphere; the staff was very friendly and accommodating to me and my girlfriend. They did amazing on a simple Togo order I can’t wait to dine in! 10/10 highly recommend I was very surprised because I’ve been working at Northpark for years and never thought to come here….til now. I’ve been to many Neiman Marcus restaurants; Scottsdale, Atlanta, Topanga, Beverly Hills, Newport Beach, etc. This is the worst run of ANY NM restaurant I’ve been to!
Aside from the dated look of the restaurant, the service was slow and lackadaisical. The food was OK but they didn’t serve the Famous consume and popovers to start!
Why call yourself a NM restaurant when you break tradition from every other NM restaurant.
Manager was around looking like she hated her job. Most NM restaurant managers are on it and check with their customers.

I periodically walk through NM on my visits to NorthPark to say hello to sales associates whom I’ve gotten to over the years. It had been long time since I’ve eaten at the Mermaid Bar. Last week I decided when checked to see what was new or still present on the menu. The salmon tacos changed my plans from lunch at PF Chang’s. They were . I got a bowl of the White Bean soup “to-go”. I’m going back this week to get two bowls “to-go” to pair with my fav roasted corn cornbread sold at Central Market. Additionally, the Bartender, Drake was cool and friendly.

This was such a wonderful experience. The staff were just remarkable! The order came out very timely. I had the roast beef dip. It was one of the greatest things I ever tasted next to the strawberry cake! The cake blew my mind. I’d definitely eat here again. The prices are reasonable for such handcrafted foods. I really enjoyed this place. I plan on coming back the next time I’m in the area.

My family has been going to NorthPark since it was just the L with Neiman’s, Titche’s, and JC Penny, and have been eating at the Mermaid bar for as long as its been there. In recent years, there must have been a change in management (a clear budget downgrade) and the quality has totally dropped off. What used to be a simple delicious spot to have lunch while shopping has lost nearly all its charm. The menu has changed and the food quality is not the same. The staff as well has changed. For years it was a group of familiar faces each time, and now when we walk past the restaurant, it’s clearly become just another “mall job” which is not what a Neiman’s restaurant deserves. Just sad to lose such a staple.

The food was OK, but the attitude on the servers was just awful. Getting water was a nightmare, they seem to be more interested in folding napkins than paying attention to customers. At the time I was there, it was empty, just a couple of customers And a lot of staff and despite that, service was still bad.
