Reviews
The food is thoughtfully prepared and visually stunning. From delicate crudo dishes to perfectly cooked seafood and rich, balanced sauces, every plate feels intentional and polished without being overly formal. Even the cocktails stand out—well crafted, smooth, and ideal for easing into the evening. The warm bread service alone sets the tone for a memorable meal.
What truly elevates the experience is the atmosphere. It’s intimate yet lively, upscale but comfortable, and perfectly suited for a special dinner or a relaxed night out while staying at the resort. The Merchant Room captures the Four Seasons standard beautifully—quietly confident, refined, and consistently excellent.
The food was exceptional — beautifully executed, perfectly cooked, and clearly prepared with top-tier ingredients. Every dish we tried felt thoughtful and polished. The service was impeccable as well, with staff who already carried the confidence and professionalism you expect from a Four Seasons property.
The only challenge at this early stage is the ambience. As it stands, it’s hard to avoid the feeling that you’re dining in the hotel lobby. It’s elegant and refined, but the space doesn’t quite have its own identity yet. That said, it’s easy to see this changing soon: the outdoor terrace looks absolutely spectacular, and once it opens, I expect the atmosphere to match the quality of the food and service.
Right now:
• Food: 5/5
• Service: 5/5
• Ambience: 3/5 (for now)
Still, The Merchant Room is absolutely worth visiting already, and it’s clear that it’s on track to become one of Naples’ premier dining experiences once the terrace opens.
Our first impressions were disappointing. The restaurant is located just off the hotel lobby, and the atmosphere felt chaotic and mismatched for what should have been a refined dining experience. The lobby was packed and extremely loud—louder than a busy college bar on a weekend night. There was nowhere to sit while waiting, and we weren’t checked in until after our reservation time, so I had to return to the host stand to inquire about our table.
We were seated directly in front of the bar, which was filled with a loud, visibly intoxicated crowd who were literally shouting throughout most of our meal. It appeared they may have been part of a corporate event, and the space felt overcrowded as a result. We were bumped into multiple times by bar patrons heading to and from the restroom, which made it difficult to relax or enjoy dinner. It was so busy it was hard to stand up and find your way to the restroom.
Service was also underwhelming. Our drinks were never refilled, the food pacing was slow, and the menu explanation felt rehearsed and impersonal. This would have been disappointing at a casual chain restaurant—let alone at a flagship Four Seasons property. Our wine and water glasses were filthy.
The food itself did not justify the pricing. The $54 spaghetti nero was largely flavorless, and the fritto misto was the worst we’ve had—the calamari was over fried to the point of being hard and the accompanying sauce was bland. The short rib was the only highlight, though even that was simply fine, not exceptional. One thing was consistent throughout the night was that each dish was served lukewarm.
Our total came to over $250 for two entrées, one starter, and a single drink each. Those prices can absolutely be justified when the food, service, and atmosphere align—but in this case, all three fell short. While any one of these issues would have been disappointing, the overall energy and atmosphere of the restaurant made the experience feel almost surreal in how misaligned it was with expectations.
Until significant improvements are made, I would recommend dining elsewhere.
We sat at the bar and were initially given a bar bites menu, so we planned to order from that. When we ordered drinks, I wanted to try a dirty martini, but might like extra olive brine. We were told (by Maté) we would be charged extra for olive brine, which felt a bit excessive and set an odd tone right away. The other bartender working said “just make her a tuxedo no 2” which is not at all what I came in wanting.
We were initially given a bar bites menu, so we planned to order from that. After waiting quite a while with no acknowledgment, we were ready to order, flagged the bartenders down, then told we shouldn’t order from that menu and were handed a completely different one, which felt disorganized and confusing. From there, service remained very inattentive. After about 20 minutes without being asked about food, we had to flag down the bartenders again to place our order.
The restaurant, or mainly bar, appeared extremely understaffed, which likely contributed to the lack of service, but the experience still felt unprofessional overall. The food itself was just okay and didn’t make up for the service issues. When I asked about ordering a specific drink for my second drink, the response we received was laughter, which felt dismissive and inappropriate.
Overall, a disappointing and disorganized experience that didn’t match the level of service or professionalism we expected from The Four Seasons.
The hostess was very kind and the welcoming was very nice , our waitress « Kübra » was very nice we have good time at diner with a Chef de rang like her. We are outside on the patio light music view on the Sea with the sunset what else ,
We got the brioche as amuse bouche it was really good , the foie gras with clémentine exellent , mushroom velouté was awesome that my wife say she can have a second one right the way.
The pork I believe that’s gonna be the dish signature of the restaurant . Elegant and well looking. And a surprise little cake for the birthday we really appreciate .
