This is an on-line store-front run by Denny’s food chain. I was confused to roll up on Denny’s expecting “The Meltdown” sandwich shop.
If you look at the curbside picture, it’s a Denny’s, labeled by Google Maps as “The Meltdown”.
It is still a Denny’s sitdown or carryout restaurant, but to access “The Meltdown”, you must order online, and pickup at the Denny’s counter. The menu and sales for The Meltdown are separate from Denny’s.
The Meltdown essentially has a separate website from Denny’s, with 5 hot sandwich items available by sandwich or combo, without the ability to modify sandwich choices with preferences. (I walked into Denny’s, they told me I must order and pay on The Meltdown website, and they would bring my order to the counter for pickup). All I wanted was a simple grilled ham and cheese sandwich for my 91 year old mom. Neither The Meltdown “we make sandwiches”, nor Denny’s, would accomodate my order. They had bread, cheese and ham, but insisted not to stray from menu items. Grilled ham and cheese sandwich is not a menu item for either restaurant. Three very polite servers offered to help me “figure out” how to manipulate the system to get a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. Sandwiches are at a cost of $12 to $15 each.
Figure it out????
How about you make the sandwich, and you just charge the cost of a comparable sandwich off the menu?
After wasting almost 30 minutes before even placing an order, I went 5 mins down the street to Firehouse Subs and got what I wanted, in and out in 5 minutes.
How complicated can ordering a sandwich from a shop claiming to specialize in sandwiches get, with higher than average prices, before they outsmart themselves out of business?
My experience with “The Meltdown” was simple business ignorance.
I don’t even know if Denny’s even offers table service after picking up a Meltdown order at their counter. So my grade for “Atmosphere” is “indifferent”.

I ordered from Door Dash, but the food was AMAZING! I had the Giddy Up Melt and yes… it does. Those brisket burnt ends will definitely melt in your mouth. Perfect combo of sauce and cheese, nothing too overbearing. Simple yet perfect! I loved the onion rings as well, but I love onion rings so. I even reheated it in an air fryer slightly later on and the meat was still good. 100% will order again. Gonna make my kid try it next time.
