In general, would like to drop 4 stars but it is shame it goes 2 due to the poor service

I felt the real Thai taste here.
While exploring a new neighborhood, I found this authentic Thai restaurant. The ambience, décor really attract to me.

The place has a nice atmosphere. It is divided into two sections: one for hotpot and one for à la carte. Since we wanted hotpot, we were seated in that area. We were the only guests there, so it was quiet while we enjoyed dinner.

The food taste is 7 out of 10. The hotpot is good value because it comes with unlimited refill within the time limit. We couldn’t eat that much, but we liked it. We also ordered three à la carte dishes, which made us full before starting Hot pot as A la cart dishes were served first and I really enjoyed them. The portions were worth the price.

Unfortunately, the service did not meet my expectations.
There was no warm welcome at the entrance. The waiter never smiled. He only checked on us from behind the counter, asking “are you ok” from far away, instead of coming to the table.

As hotpot lovers, we know what we like and don’t like. The raw platter came with vegetables, noodles, meat, and tofu. We didn’t eat the noodles, so they stayed on the plate until he cleared it. Then, the waiter told us, “Next time tell me if you don’t eat udon noodle.” The way he said it surprised and embarrassed us. We had already paid for the full set, so it should not matter. If he had explained earlier, we could have asked to remove the noodles.

Since we were the only guests in the hotpot section, I don’t mind if staff left us alone. But at least, they could have checked on us politely.

Overall, I may come back again because I love Asian food. But I will not expect much from the service. Maybe next time I will meet a different waiter who is friendlier.

Thanks to the chefs who prepared the food.

I had a lovely meal at The Meeting with my friends. We did not make a reservation but we went on a week day so I would recommend to book for the weekend. We did not have to wait for a table and were served by a staff immediately. I would recommend the Lamb Massaman which complimented the coconut rice to perfection. The food was extremely enjoyable and I am lucky the restaurant is fairly local to me. The Meeting may just be my go to Thai restaurant as I have struggled to find one since my usual had closed down many years ago. Give The Meeting a try and you won’t be disappointed.

Two things everyone should know before you go:
1. Everything has gluten in it. So, gluten-free or sensitive don’t go here. I do understand it is difficult to make proper Thai food without gluten. But it’s not impossible.

2. There is an automatic 10% gratuity added to your bill with no option to remove it. So in other words, a 10% tax is added to every item on the menu. Gratuity: “a voluntary, usually monetary, payment made by a customer to service staff for exceptional service. It serves as a token of appreciation in hospitality”. Don’t call it a gratuity if I have not had the opportunity to judge the service myself. Besides, since when is tipping a thing outside of touristy central London? We don’t patronize restaurants that have this automatic “gratuity/tax”. Neither should you. Why pay the unnecessary tax?

Food here was ok- pancake desert very good. What let this place down was the very poor service. Dishes were unceremoniously dumped on the table – we asked for water and got a glass which was not refilled. The restaurant was not at all busy but we felt they were just waiting for us to leave. We were presented with the bill without having asked for it at 2130hrs. We were going to ask for a coffee but felt so unwelcome we didn’t. I don’t think I will return. The food doesn’t make up for the miserable service.

Restaurant recommended by a friend. Decor and atmosphere was very nice. We didn’t have a reservation but they gave us a table for one hour and 50 minutes (was enough time for us to eat). Service was good. Food was delicious. They have parking for few cars at the back of the restaurant/Bar.

Have always ordered takeaway from here many times before and never been disappointed. First time coming here and we ordered various different dishes, from chicken to fish and duck. Small inside but very comfortable. Desserts were ok but the mains and starters tasted so good. Will definitely come back here. Loved the fish cakes!

My favourite Thai restaurant in North London. Great service and incredibly flavoured food. They have separate vegetarian and vegan menus. Be cautious with the vegetarian menu as they still include fish sauce in the currys. I highly recommend the Green or red curry, they have a good spice level and very good portion size.

The Meeting is such a quality find in Enfield. I’ve tried a lot of Thai food and this place is authentic and dependent on quality. The boss Bruce is so friendly and he really makes sure every part of his establishment is of high standard. The staff are attentive and are professional. All the food I’ve had from here is so tasty and never inconsistent. I recommend their curries!

This restaurant was a great surprise. The food is amazing and you’ll find all the traditional Thai dishes in the menu. Their crispy duck is to die for.
One small note: avoid the tables around the toilets. This area may spoil your dinner with its bad smell.
