The staff was super welcoming and friendly and the food was great.
The menu had options for every taste but not that many that becomes overwhelming to choose.
Both of us craved the Lentil soup, and it was great.
The tartare was very good and super fresh.
We ordered the rabbit lasagna to share and were really excited for it, but it was missing some spice or maybe extra salt.
As a big fan salad, I was very nicely pleased with the diversity of greens in the side salad!
I finished the lunch with an espresso!
If you are around, make sure you make a reservation to try this Michelin ⭐️ place.
We loved the vibe of the place, service, staff and of course quality and taste of the food.
We tried carpaccio as starter. It was delicious. For main course, we tried ribeye and duck breast. The liquorice sauce of the duck was out of the world.
The overall experience exceeded our expectations specifically for the price we paid.
When visiting Mdina, don’t miss The Medina.
We’ve had a lunch there and it was nice. It is off season so there aren’t much people around so it is peaceful.
I expected a bit more, having in mind the star, but it was still delicious.
Pay attention cause they serve Pepsi instead of Coke
We enjoyed it so much that we returned for my husband’s birthday – and it was just as wonderful! Highly recommend Medina Restaurant for anyone who loves great food and impeccable service.
We ordered the Kisra Ħobż, which by name should imply at least some local Maltese bread, yet the platter didn’t include any. We actually had to ask for it separately. The platter itself was mediocre and felt incomplete, missing some quintessential Maltese nibbles that really define this type of dish. It would have been great to see something as simple and traditional as kunserva on fresh slices of Maltese bread, but this was noticeably absent. Several items on the platter also tasted like they were straight out of a jar, which was disappointing.
We also tried the Ġbejna Ravioli, which unfortunately lacked flavour and didn’t deliver the richness or freshness you’d expect from such a classic dish. Overall, the meal was unsatisfactory and didn’t capture the authentic Maltese experience we were hoping for.
Beautiful ambiance and good service but the food needs significant improvement to match the concept and the atmosphere.
Easter dessert went down a treat. Ice tea and panacotta could be given a miss.
Overall the rating is a 4, but 4.5 if we include George’s service!
From the moment we walked in, everything was flawless. The ambiance is elegant yet welcoming, and the service was outstanding, attentive without being intrusive.
We shared the middle eastern sharing plates and had the Maltese- style rabbit. The rabbit arancini was also a treat. Every bite showed why Medina has earned its Michelin star!
If you’re looking for a truly special dining spot while you visit the city of Mdina, Medina Restaurant is worth every penny. Can’t wait to come back!
