Was in the area visiting a friend I haven’t seen in 20 years knowing we would be going out for lunch knowing that I wanted to go to a Thai restaurant Found this place on yelp, decided it had some decent reviews and so I went with it
I’m very satisfied and happy that we did. There was no lines no waiting a medium amount of seating probably roughly around 25 people comfortably. It was very quiet in there. It looked to be family owned, we were greeted given plenty of time to have conversation before we placed our order very friendly it was very clean in the restaurant
There is street parking and there is parking out behind the restaurant mall area as well that you can use again we went on the off-season
The food came hot. It was very tasteful tasted fresh. The rice was not overcooked. It wasn’t too dry each and every one of us enjoyed our meal. The portions were perfect. Our end price came to $60 before tax before tip for three of us with one beverage very reasonable
My Partner and I have had a lot of Thai food in the Boston area and on Cape Cod and this definitely ranks among the best Thai we’ve had!! We’ve been to Mea Thai at least 3 times and the food was awesome every time!!
The Tom Yum Soup Noodles are delicious and Hot – great for a cold night in Plymouth!!
We love Larb – a Thai salad – and Mea’s Chicken Larb -under their E-saan dishes – was so flavorful, fresh and healthy!. Also the Moo Yang – which was Thai BBQ pork was delicious and unctuous – a dish we haven’t seen at other Thai restaurants.
Their Pad Khee Mao – otherwise known as Drunken Noodles in most other Thai restaurants – had fresh home-grown herbs including fresh peppercorn like herbs – that made the dish so tasty.
Our Server turned out to be the owner, chef, gardener bartender, kids’ mother and probably the bottle washer too!! She was so very sweet and attentive despite having at least 6 jobs.
Please frequent this owner and chef owned restaurant!!
Even the most common dishes like pad Thai or pad see ewe are exceptionally higher quality than any of the other Thai restaurants in town. Their pad Thai in particular does a wonderful job of balancing the flavors of sweet, salty, and acidic. I like to get mine just a little spicy. My other favorites from them include panang curry, pad kra pao, pad kee mao, moo ping, and tom kha. These dishes are all prepared consistently and well executed. Even with multiple visits, there are menu items I find myself wanting to try after seeing other people order them. There are several options for noodle dishes, including the coveted boat noodles which you don’t see too often at Thai restaurants on the east coast. If it’s in season, always get the mango sticky rice for the perfect dessert. I caution anyone from ordering anything at a spice level of 5, it’s intense and not for the faint of heart. I love spicy food but I don’t dare go beyond 2-3.
I appreciate the excellent service from the owners who are almost always in front of house helping customers. They are so friendly, great at making recommendations, and are always working hard to take care of the folks coming in. I’m always impressed that even when it’s busy that they’re still pleasant and hard working. After trying several other local Thai restaurants, this one stands out far beyond the others as the gold standard.
The juicy dumplings are good (soup dumplings), Pad Thai is definitely recommended. We got the Sweet and Sour Chicken and garlic chicken stir fry which both were good.
Tried 2 other noodles and then weren’t the best we had so we are gonna stick with the pad Thai.
Don’t forget the Thai iced tea
Very cool vibe indoors and they have outdoor seating as well.
The curry noodle soup and juicy dumplings are my go to, but don’t sleep on the chives pancake and the crispy chicken basil.
