Some of the tastiest food! I have never particularly liked Indian food, but gave this place a try. We got the paneer dosa, samosa chaat, boneless chicken biryani, and butter chicken and everything tasted AMAZING. It doesn’t take much to give me the chicken ick, but I couldn’t stop eating the chicken biryani. The chicken is cooked so perfectly that you can slice it with a spoon and the flavors that accompany it are magnificent. Would highly recommend giving this place a try if you’re looking for some authentic Indian food!

The Masala Republic has a nice menu with lots of Indian food options, but our experience was disappointing. We ordered through Uber Eats from our hotel and clearly requested mild food for our family. Unfortunately, when the order arrived, everything was extremely spicy—far beyond what we could eat. As a result, we weren’t able to enjoy any of the food at all.
The only resolution offered was a $10 Uber Eats credit, which didn’t really make up for an entire meal we couldn’t eat. While the flavors might be good for people who enjoy very spicy food, this experience was frustrating, especially when dietary preferences were clearly stated.

I was traveling through St Louis and googled Indian restaurants. I picked this one because it had a 4.7 score in the reviews. Initial reactions were good because the newly opened restaurant had nice decor and interior fitments. The menu and drink choice was disappointing because they hadn’t got a license for alcohol so instead of the refreshing beer I looked forward to, I just went with water. They only had a handful of curry choices which they didn’t call “curry”, it was described as “gravy” dishes. For meat, there was a choice between chicken or mutton dishes. I asked if they had lamb but the pleasant server tried to convince me that mutton is like lamb. I then had to educate her about the old saying “mutton dressed as lamb.” I chose the Chicken Chettinad because they assured me that they could make this very spicy as per my preference. Unfortunately the spice level was a bland medium. I normally eat Vindaloo or Phal so this was disappointing. The worst aspect was that there was only two chicken drumsticks and a piece of chicken that looked like a breast with hardly any breast meat on it. The supplied fork and spoon were useless to cut the meat off the bone and I had to ask for a knife. That’s probably the first time in my life I’ve had to ask for a knife in an Indian restaurant. The small container of rice was pitiful. Again, I’ve never had a situation in an Indian restaurant where you get more curry than rice and remember, this was already a feeble portion of curry. The flavor was OK but in the end it was essentially a tiny pitstop dinner costing $25 and nothing to write home about. There was no atmosphere because it lacked something as simple as some Indian music. There was my table of two and only one other diner and it was 7:30pm – 8:30pm.

I wanted to share how much I enjoyed my recent visit. The lamb dish was absolutely mouth-melting and beautifully presented. The fresh masala soda was refreshing and truly delicious.
The cheese naan and other naans were perfectly made—soft, flavorful, and the best I’ve had in a long time. The tandoori broccoli was outstanding, cooked just right with great flavor.
The décor and overall environment are very appealing, creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience. Wishing you the very best of luck with your new business—you are off to a wonderful start!

The Masala Republic truly is a hidden gem! We ordered the masala dosa, malai kofta, chicken mandi, and garlic and everything was packed with delicious flavor. We would have appreciated a little more rice served with the kofta and a little more chicken with the mandi, but the flavors were so delightful that it made up for everything. The naan was incredibly fluffy, the rice was perfectly cooked, the dosage was crispy and soft at the same time.

Masala Republic is a new Indian restaurant that is dangerously close to my Loft. It’s on the backside of Washington Avenue so don’t miss it. I ordered the buffet style takeout situation. My family was thrilled. I got one of the mixed grills, the shrimp biryani, vegetable samosas, some paneer, chicken masala, a little of everything. Everything was delicious. My father was very happy. Service was quick and easy. I ordered online. The restaurant is very nice inside so you should check that out too.

Very disappointing experience at The Masala Republic. I ordered the Boneless Chicken Dum Biryani, and it was extremely salty, to the point that it was hard to eat. The rice was dry, and the chicken lacked tenderness. Overall, the taste was completely off and not worth the price. I would not recommend this dish.

I stopped in on a slow Wednesday afternoon with the munchies. After browsing their menu for something small, I decided to try their spring rolls. Service was friendly and personable and the restaurant was immaculately clean. By the time I got home they were still piping hot and crunchy. Their veggie spring rolls are delicious! If you like the more common Chinese/Thai/Vietmanese versions, you’ll love these, too. The dipping sauce (less sweet and with the slightest kick compared to standard sweet chili sauce) perfectly complemented the Indian spice profile. I’ll be back!

The Masala Republic is a gem! The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a meal. The servers were incredibly friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. The food was exceptional — large portions with bold, explosive flavors in every bite. You definitely get great value for what you order. If you’re looking for delicious Indian food in a comfortable setting, The Masala Republic is absolutely worth a visit!
