Super hip place for drinks and food. It has a speakeasy / high end bar vibe.
We got a small private room, which was superb place to enjoy our drinks and dessert.
All the cocktails were amazing and they have some high end bourbons (Pappy and Old Rip) if you’re into it.
The prosecco dipped grapes were delicious. Service was nice.

Monique catered to my groups needs so kindly. The space we were provided with was perfect for our group. The waitress was attentive and polite. Would definitely go back!!!

Outstanding venue! This is truly a unique drinking and dining experience in the St Louis area. Speakeasy vibes, with a rooftop patio. What more could you ask? John took outstanding care of us at the bar. We enjoyed our choices and cannot wait to return to The Maryland House.

We had a late-evening reservation, and midway through our visit we were asked to leave in order to accommodate a different party. It appeared to be a group of St. Louis Blues players, which made the situation feel particularly dismissive and socially awkward. As paying customers with a confirmed reservation, it was incredibly disappointing to be displaced without any proactive communication or alternative accommodations. Even seating us on the exterior patio or in a smaller area would have been a reasonable solution.
As a longtime St. Louis resident who makes a point to support local establishments, I found the experience surprisingly elitist and unwelcoming. The emphasis on prioritizing perceived status over honoring reservations was unnecessary and reflected poorly on the restaurant’s values.
To add to the frustration, one of the exterior heaters actually burned and singed my coat—an expensive item that is now damaged. Combined with the disorganized and anxious demeanor of the host staff, the entire evening felt poorly managed and far below the standard one should expect at a reputable venue.
Had the restaurant simply called ahead to cancel our reservation, it would have been far more respectful of our time and money. Instead, we paid to be there only to be escorted out. Overall, it was a bizarre, disappointing, and avoidable experience.

Very impressed with this place. Every visit so far has been delightful! The staff is very friendly—and skilled! Atmosphere is super cool too, and I love the creative drink selection. I can’t wait to return.

Atmosphere was lovely but the service sucked ): We sat at the bar and the bartender did see us but there was no acknowledgment from him. He didn’t speak to us unless we spoke to him. There was no warm greeting plus didn’t ask if drinks, and food was tasting good. Drinks were ok but wouldn’t wanna pay $16 for a batched old fashioned. Do you also really need to batch every drink? Tacos, and flatbread were delicious but wouldn’t go back.

Incredible venue!! The ambience was a cool vibe, the service could’ve been better, but the food was delicious. Wait, I fell to mention the drinks, yall the drinks were strong and on point, the bartenders did their thang behind the bar. Go check this spot out, you won’t be disappointed!

Great experience! We met the owner, Kevin, at his Brennan’s location by chance. The bar was closed for an event and he escorted us to the Maryland house bar. We had ‘all carrot, no stick’ and ‘Back to Kyoto’ cocktails. They were amazing. The bartender, John, was friendly and professional. ‘All carrot, no stick was my favorite drink of the night. The Maryland house bar is a hidden gem tucked between Edera Italian restaurant and suitsupply. The entrance is between the buildings leading to a beautiful artsy open area. There’s a green door to a business with an elevator to the 3rd floor. It is reservation only. We set our reservations so we can come back and have the full dine in experience. The venue is stunning but more importantly the cocktails are quality. 10/10.

I was part of a party with a confirmed reservation, yet we were not allowed indoors due to conflicting reservations. Staff then asked us to shorten our time to accommodate another group, and leave. The handling of the situation was unprofessional and discourteous. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

If you need a cocktail, good vibes, great food, and amazing staff – come to Maryland House! Every experience has been a treat at MH. They’ve been lovely hosts to my boyfriend’s surprise birthday party, they have unreal deals for drinks and parties, and the snacks are always on point.
While I personally can’t consume spicier food and drink, I love that they have such a unique offering on their menu. My personal favorites are the Bruce Lee One Inch Punch and the Stay At Bar Mom!
Thanks for a fabulous time, every time 🙂
P.S. – this is the sister spot to Brennan’s which is another fabulous spot in the Central West End.
