An open air bar overlooking Washington St. in downtown Huntsville from the second story of 116 Washington St. The entrance is located at ground level immediately south of the Clinton St. parking garage. Ascend the original Art Deco terrazzo staircase from the 1950’s, into the original projection room from the renowned Martin Theater. Design elements include 18 foot ceilings with exposed original beams, intimate seating, multiple TV’s, large island bar serving up artisan cocktails and classic American food. The absolute perfect location to see a parade or people watching.

Stopped by this place a couple weeks ago with some friends on a long weekend at the recommendation of a local friend. It was warm(ish) evening and so they had the window open which made the place very comfortable. The atmosphere was great immediately with a very laid back vibe. We ordered some outstanding appetizers that included the buffalo chicken dip, pretzel board and pot stickers and they were all fantastic. Good beer selection, and VERY good bourbon selection, but the thing that made the night was our server Gill. She was absolutely fantastic. Social and attentive and very prompt, she treated us like old friends, gave us some recommendations for a couple other local spots and even gave us a little history of the building. I can hardly remember more pleasant service. She was fantastic. The ONLY slight drawback I found was the music was a tad loud and “clubby” but take that with a grain of salt, as I don’t like much of any music after the 90s. But otherwise a great spot to have some good food with good friends. 5 stars all day.

This was our first time to eat at The Martin Bar + Bistro. We’ll definitely be back. The food was delicious and the service was great. My husband and I both ordered the Classic Cheeseburger, it was really good. He ordered onion rings for his side. I ordered fries, my fries had a seasoning on them they were great. His onion rings were delicious. We highly recommend them. They don’t skip on the onion rings there were plenty to share, I recommend doing as we did, if you are with someone order fries and onion rings and share them. We also ordered an appetizer, the Pork Potato Skins. They were also delicious.

This is a bar, food is secondary. If you think of it that way, you’ll do fine.
Was in a group of 3, we were seated immediately on a Sunday just after brunch rush. After being seated we waited 10 full minutes for a server to approach our table, and she informed us she was covering for the other server who was slammed. It happens, no big deal, but just our experience.
We ordered 3 lunch items and some drinks, drinks came quickly, food took a while. A flatbread, burger and fried green tomato sliders.
Food was good… For bar food. Nothing to write home about or recommend to a friend as a must try, just good bar food. Fried green tomatoes were a little bland.
Overall our visit was good not great, and I really think calling this a Bistro is a stretch, food isn’t the lead here.

We had an early dinner here today. It’s an interesting place. The food was very good. I had the cheeseburger and my wife had the fried shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly. Alaina, our server was great. I’m sure we’ll be back.

I would recommend this place. The food could use a tad more seasoning, but it was good. The wings could have been cooked a tad longer. The wings (which were ordered as an appetizer before or meal) came out basically at the same time as or food did which was not ideal as I’m sure you can imagine. I ordered the fried chicken, which was good, the sides were lacking in flavor. My husband ordered the fish which was excellent as were his sides. The drinks (Moscow mules) were prepared in a timely fashion even though they were busy. The waitress was amazing!!! She was fast, friendly, and knowledgeable!!! We will definitely be back.

Fantastic food and service. We came for lunch on Saturday and had an amazing time. Food was fresh and on time. Our server was friendly and answered all our questions. Bar area is gorgeous and the view from the second floor is the cherry on top!!
It’s been on my list to visit here for a bit, so happy we finally made it! We got mimosas, chips and salsa, the BBQ pulled pork sandwich, and the chicken Caesar salad!

Let me say that the Server was was one point. She came and greeted everyone with a smile and answered all our questions. The fish tacos were really good. The fish was lightly fried and the fresh jalapenos were a nice touch of heat. The calamari fried just right. The drinks were refreshing. The atmosphere was great with the large open Bay doors. I will be going back again.

Ok…so my wife and I visited here and ordered a few different dishes which were all absolutely delicious! I had the Grouper fillet with asparagus and grits and my wife had fried chicken with mash. They give you some really good portions here and the food is very tasty. We had a server who was nice and despite it being a bit busy she stayed on point with the tables and made sure that we never wanted for anything while there. We definitely enjoyed eating here and will definitely return. Thank you for a great experience!

3.5 Stars, the food was ok, from a Vegan/Vegetarian standpoint. The asparagus was the best, the seasoning on it was amazing. They need to use that same seasoning with the stringbeans, because that seasoning or a lack there of was blah… anyways, the mac and cheese was not bad, the cheese curds were amazing. The French fries were also good, well that was all what I ate,. Enjoyed the pictures…if you enjoy and want your restaurant featured, show my cash app $LeshaJohnson some love and put the name of your restaurant or store that you want featured in the “For” slot.
