Charming small neighborhood cafe with freshly made food. And might be making the best matcha latte in town! No joke – it was the best one I had in a while. Service is lovely, you order at the counter but they are helpful and bus the tables afterwards. They are also thoughtful and ask about specifics to get your order right. We had a lovely delicious brunch. The place was busy, clean, and pleasant. Menu has some vegan options and they can accommodate gluten free. Portions are very decent. What we ordered came with two sides, more than what we expected. They had some big windows open to let fresh air in.
Parking can be tricky, it’s all street parking in that area. So you may have to parks some place near and walk. Highly recommend it – turns out this nook it’s better than other places that have bigger names.

Probably my favorite cafe in Madison!! nice and quiet ambiance, pleasant decor, very tasty food, beverages don’t have that rich of a flavor but still good. In the summer all the giant windows are open so they allow dogs inside and even have treats! There is a cute little patio in the back as well!

What the hell is going on here when there are only two parties of two waiting for food, and it still takes over 30 minutes for avocado toast? Lol… this is actually just a terrible experience. The food hasn’t come out yet, but it’s gonna have to be incredible for me to ever want to try and come back.
It’s a disappointment because the space could be beautiful and a great addition to the neighborhood, but as it stands… when the restaurant is empty and you can’t get food out quickly… it’s back to the drawing board.
Other annoyances:
– Coffee is a self-serve push pot. It was empty upon arrival, and there was about 10 minutes of waiting for the next batch.
– TV screen as a menu (I just hate these. Honestly if I’d seen this before walking in, I would’ve turned away.)
– They allow “well-behaved dogs” in a restaurant, I’m a dog lover but c’mon.
– barista committed many unforgivable sins at the machine. Grinding with no beans in the hopper, leaving shots for like 4 minutes before adding to a beverage, trying to re-steam milk to get it to temp, this poor soul was not trained.
– I’m still waiting for two orders of avocado toast… lol. I honestly kinda cannot believe it?
Okay I just checked the time on the receipt. We placed the order at 8:44… it’s 9:34 and we are just sitting waiting for avocado toast lmao.
Ok we got it. Hahahaha. Just trying to have a good time. Food looks okay.
Godspeed restaurant. Please do better.

Overall, a decent menu with reasonable prices. I deducted 2 stars for a couple of reasons. We placed an ordered for pick up scheduled for 9:45AM. The food wasn’t ready until 10:15AM which was disappointing. During the waiting period, 3 employees asked if we had been helped, but that’s as far as help went. The food was also warm – for having to wait 30 min, this shouldn’t have been the case at all. Lastly, I ordered a veggie eggs benedict and the poached eggs were way overcooked with VERY little hollandaise sauce if any at all.
I suppose you get what you pay for. I recommend going elsewhere for breakfast as there are certainly better restaurant options in the neighborhood.

We had the loveliest time at The Marquette this morning! The staff were all so kind and welcoming to my dog! Thank you & can’t wait to be back soon.

First time here and was really impressed. Really great kids’ menu with a beautiful smiley face pancake, great food with a huge side selection and super reasonable prices. Atmosphere was peaceful on a Saturday morning when many Madison restaurants are packed. The staff were all kind and warm and had a really positive experience with their interactions with us and their neighbors from Willy Street. Definitely a hidden gem!

Super cute place. Comfy seating with cushions. Spent hours here studying. Friendly staff. I got the banana bread french toast and a mocha. Both were super tasty! Also, I hear they are dog friendly so will definitely bring my dog next time 🙂

This is not the kind of place you go with a large group (we had 9 people). You order up at the counter and while our drinks came to the table quickly, our food came out one order at a time very slowly. It was like each of us had to eat one at a time which made for a really weird dining experience.
The food in general is very good and we are all leaving satisfied but yeah, not a great place for big groups if you are paying separately.

Shhh! Don’t tell everyone about this place! Just your closest friends. Very cool cafe, kinda hidden on Baldwin St. limited parking, but it’s worth it. Reasonable prices on everything. Great coffee. I had a Kale smoothie that was actually really good, my friend had a yogurt parfait that was also very good. Friendly wait person/barista. Quiet & pleasant decor.

The few times I’ve stopped by here, I’ve wished I’d gone anywhere else on Willy St. This visit, the quiche I ordered was clearly microwaved, wet, and too salty. The smoothies are fine though.
