We were in Guilford for a few days visiting friends. We spent a lot of time in and around the town green. One stop was the Marketplace on the green. We have been here many times over the years as the ownership and layout have changed. This time it was different from our last visit. Different seating etc. pretty busy but service was a bit slow. Some additional seating outside.
We ordered the harvest green salad and a Californian sandwich. Both were good but the nice vibe inside that we remember seems to be gone. Crowd is smaller.

The staff at this establishment are just fantastic. So kind, swift and helpful! The shakes are fantastic, I personally love that they do not add sweeteners (or if so very little). Their salads are chock full of wonderful toppings and they make excellent sandwiches.

We had our wedding at Marketplace this weekend and it was amazing. We live in Canada and Brita made the planning so easy from afar. She made sure every single detail was sorted. They completely transformed the space for our wedding reception and it was so beautiful! The food was amazing and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We even took our leftovers home and had a big meal the next day. Huge thank you to everyone at Marketplace who made our wedding day so perfect! ❤️

I usually have a great experience here. Very nice people and great food. But today I ordered a salad with chicken cutlet and the breading was not even cooked. Soggy and wet, falling apart. It doesn’t look like it was cooked at all

I just got home after picking up & then “gobbling up” The Gobbler and I’m about to drive back down for another one. Perfectly built, I love how the stuffing is grilled, and the bits of turkey skin hanging on – I enjoyed every. single. bite. of this very special sandwich.

Stopped into the Marketplace on the green in Guilford for lunch. What a treasure this place is. My husband is vegan happily they had options for him as well. It’s a walk up to the counter and order type of place with many many choices from deli to bakery coffee etc. Plenty of seating indoors and out. I noticed one of the soups of the day was a creamy carrot and dill needless to say I couldn’t resist it. It was delicious flavorful and creamy with just the right amount of dill. I asked for the curried chicken salad on a croissant it was so good a little sweet a little spice everything you’d want in a curried chicken salad. My husband went for the house made veggie burger which he absolutely loved. We will definitely return,

Terrific place to grab some fresh sandwiches, salads, coffee, and breakfast foods. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. There is ample space for large family groups to dine in as well as outdoor seating.

Wonderful place for locals and visitors alike to have a bite to eat and some time to socialize. Last time I was here was decades ago when I had friends living in the area. Even more vibrant now as the town has more visitor traffic. Indoor and seasonal outdoor seating, but no table service. Sandwiches and wraps are very good, but be sure to order sides and beverages when placing an order because everything is a la carte.

The burger was amazing! Very juicy and flavorful. The fries I ordered as a side were an entire other basket, and they were very good! The grilled cheese was delicious, as was the Whitfield 77 and the Smoke House. Can’t wait to come back!
