Delicious Boar”s Head sandwiches and subs. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They have a “grab-n-go” meals ready to go if you are in a hurry. They also sell beer, wine, coffee, a selection of fruits, and baked goods. Very delicious and I recommend them.

The Market is a culinary gem offering whole, unprocessed ingredients. It crafts each menu item in-house. The menu consists of traditional Mediterranean cuisine with fragrant herbs and spices tantalizing the senses. As an advocate of plant-based eating, I found myself in a restaurant paradise, exploring many delectable options thoughtfully curated for the discerning palates of foodies everywhere.
The menu’s clarity in labeling gluten-free and vegan choices is commendable, ensuring inclusivity for diverse dietary preferences. Among the standout plant-based delights, the roasted red pepper dip, harissa carrot, root mash, and falafel emerged as personal favorites, each boasting an explosion of flavors and fantastic textures.
Dessert lovers will revel in the array of vegetarian delights offered at The Market. After indulging in all five dessert options, I am delighted to provide glowing recommendations. The baklava, a perennial favorite, stole the show with its flakey pastry and pistachio layers—a delightful indulgence with every bite. The ginger cookie was delicious, and the date walnut brownie was equally enchanting, with its velvety texture and rich, decadent flavor.
The white chocolate cherry dessert offered a delightful interplay of bright tartness and sweetness. In contrast, the chocolate harissa cookie was surprising with its subtle yet captivating spice profile.
My experience at The Market left an indelible impression, and I am eager to bring my husband next time so he can sample the lamb. They offer dine-in and to-go options, and easy online ordering is available. Soon, they will offer delivery through DoorDash. The Market provides a unique place of culinary excellence in the heart of Elizabeth City. Whether you’re a devoted vegan, celiac, a discerning dessert connoisseur, or simply a lover of exceptional cuisine, a visit to The Market promises an unforgettable gastronomic journey worth savoring time and time again.

Decided to try The Market’s Mediterranean cuisine and was not disappointed. The menu includes healthy and tasty choices including beef, lamb, and chicken shawarma pitas and entrees. The sides were delicious well spiced vegetables and rice. The potatoes were a little undercooked but hopefully that was a one time thing. Hope this place makes it because it’s a nice alternative in E.C. It would be great to see other Mediterranean dishes on the menu eventually. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.

**UPDATE-The business relocated and they now primarily serve Mediterranean style food. And it does not disappoint. I got lunch to go and was very pleased with the chicken platter and mezzo platter. We love Mediterranean food and right now this is the only place around.
Delicious food. Get pre-made or order when you get there. We love the cold pressed juices and they have sweet treats as well.

Food was fantastic. The brunch platter can definitely feed two people. Breakfast pizza was very tasty. Location is well-kept and clean. Prices are very reasonable. Coffee was great! They have music on Sundays, which is a little loud to sit inside with while chatting and eating. Very impressed.

I genuinely love this place, if I didn’t work 40 minutes away this would be my lunch spot every day. But it has definitely become a favorite. If your looking for a good Reuben in town this is definitely the place to find it. I love their grab and go selection as well as their baked goods. The service is incredibly fast, and compared to fast food this is ten times better!

I travel to E City for work quite often and was excited to see a spot to grab a salad / sandwich in a non-chain restaurant. Really let down when the $14 salad arrived and see what was clearly meant as a side dish. I don’t rate very often but this was a big let down.
I’ll give The Market another chance next trip, hoping for a better impression.

1st time there. Probably won’t go back. Tried to order a salad the way my wife comes home with. No dice. Tried to order some deli meat. No menu. Asked what they had. Don’t know. Asked for turkey. The girl gives me a two options. I order a lb of whatever the 1st option was cut kind of thin. Wait a few minutes. Comes back. “We don’t have that”. I go with option 2. No, visible weight on packaging when I get it home. Laughed when I opened the meat and it’s 4 thick slices of turkey. Not even sure if it is a lb.
I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Though, if you want cigarettes to go with your thick, unwarranted passive aggressive, slices of turkey this is the place.

A lovely atmosphere with delicious treats of many kinds. Had an incredible BLT- my kid stole half of it because it was so tasty. The macarons tasted great to me! ♀️ We even went back for seconds.
