Save your money and time by NOT eating here. I took my kids for breakfast and was disappointed in the food and the ridiculous price. I have gotten better food at the complimentary breakfast at 2 star and 3 star hotels. The eggs are powdered eggs they serve in a cafeteria. The hash browns were half cooked and gross. The pastries were dry and looked as old as the dining room itself. Waffles were dry. I could go on and on about how poor the food quality was. Service was excellent, and they tried their best. However, they add a whopping 20% service charge along with HPF fee. It’s a buffet, and you get the food yourself. Ended up having to eat the boxed cereal. For 2 kids and myself, the bill was $90!!! Embarrassing for a 5 star resort. See the other negative reviews. Should have listened to them.

(Christmas) Main dining room functions as a buffet for breakfast and fine dining for dinner. After reading the reviews I was avoiding dining here but was pleasantly surprised on both ends. When reading the reviews consider seasonal timing.

Very good. However for the prices that charge, they should include the coffer. In the morning, they offer free coffee just outside the restaurant entrance but once you go in, $6.00 for a cup…really?

We arrived in our party of 7, dressed formally. Several men in our party did not have neck ties, and we were promptly turned away. Upon returning in “proper” attire, we were seated, next to several older and richer appearing couples, who did not comply with the “dress code” but were seated regardless.

I went to this place despite the bad reviews hoping that the food and service may have improved. They have a dress code and that makes one anticipate good food and service. the decor is grand with green chandeliers. we were a party of four and sadly each of our dishes was a disappointment. I had the chicken which was vey dry and without any flavor. so were the seafood dishes which the other members of our party had. Portions are really small for the high price. The appetizers-caesars salad, potato fries and onion soup. the salad was coated in cheese and dressing. potatoes were half cooked. only the soup was worth getting dressed for.

What can I even say about this dining experience? Gnocchi was good, but do you know what was even better? CHERYL. The light of my life, my biggest inspiration, my best friend. Cheryl offered amazing service. Now, I can’t imagine my life WITHOUT her. I might move into the gingerbread house near Whoville so that I never have to leave her. Thank u Cheryl I love you.

Personally disappointing–food and service. I ordered a Caesar salad that was parmesan and lettuce, they forgot the dressing. I sent that back and waited. Was charged for it (of course). Next was a crab cake that was straight out of the can. I realize it’s WV and you don’t go there for the seafood. That said I’ve had better crab cakes in WI. And lets face it, they are a state away from the Chesapeake. If they cared, which they don’t, they would make a proper crab cake. This one was about twice the size of an Oreo for $20. The entrée was a rabbit ragout. There was at most 0.25 ounces of meat in this dish. Literally 2 – 3 tiny shreds. I effectively paid $40 for a well seasoned bowl of noodles. Then the service. Water never refilled, never an inquiry into how the food was at any point. But they did add the 20% gratuity which means that wait staff have little incentive to care coupled with the fact they have a captive audience at the resort. Finally the pretense with the dress code of jacket and tie. That’s fine but please back up the ask with service and food worthy of it.

The service cannot be called service. The wait staff was inept in all respects. The quality of the food is substandard compared with a Denny’s. The quantity is very sad. After having paid $163 for two people we both went away hungry. What a pitiful experience. We were expecting way more than what we got. A complete and epic fail. We advise you avoid the Main Dining Room at The Greenbriar Inn.

Worest dinning experience in my life. Took 45 mins just to get a drink then I had to mix it myself at the table. Took another 45mins to get our food and the order was wrong. The manager never spoke with us but kept going around getting on to the entire staff making the experience very uncomfortable.
