We had lunch on a Friday and breakfast on Saturday. Both were delicious. I would highly recommend the catfish that was the special on Friday. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and décor. The only downside was the seating is a bit limited.

The epitome of a small town diner!
From the glittery booths to the entry way to the menus to the food, everything about Main Street Cafe is small town loveliness!
Try the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich-my favorite and a small town staple!

My friend J-MO and I stopped in on our return trip from Grayville. New Harmony is an amazing place to be for a bite that we couldn’t pass up. I apologize for the lack of pics that accompany my reviews. I simply forgot. It was Taco Tuesday so guess what the lunch special was? Tacos came in a Taco Salad or regular tacos. They were absolutely delicious and the service was the best anyone could expect. I highly recommend this casual old town restaurant experience.

Old diner feel, with booths and chairs done in 50’s style.
The food is wonderful! Both breakfast and lunch are well worth the very reasonable prices.

We’re tourists and had breakfast here on a cold January Wednesday. We were one of two parties at 7:30 a.m. The waitperson was welcoming and efficient and the food was very good. Prices were reasonable and they DO (1/2025) take credit cards. Gluten-free toast was an option. The decor is a charming blend of modern and retro, including stamped tin ceilings and upper walls.
YMMV, But we loved the place.

Very poor service & long, LONG wait for food! No matter what you order, be prepared for a very long wait to get your food. Check your bill as they occasionally overcharge.

Located in New Harmony, IN. Restaurant represents the atmosphere of the town. Quaint. Breakfast/lunch served. Special of the day was a delicious cheese burger served plain or with all the trimmings served on toast. Novel presentation. I liked the way it was served. Tater tots accompanied the burger. Simple but tasty menu.
Not a chain restaurant.
Children friendly.
Drawback: short staff for the amount of customers.

Very friendly and fast. My sister loved her fried catfish sandwich, but my chicken salad sandwich was just ok. I wish they served breakfast all day.

The perfect diner! We loved the glitter seats, friendly service, and great food.
We manage peanut and treenut allergies. While this restaurant has both, they used extra measures to be sure we could eat safely. Thank you! We will be back again!
