We have been traveling the Pacific Northwest for the last 10 days so we have had many opportunities to sample many different restaurants along the way. After reading so many questionable reviews we decided to have dinner here and decide for ourselves because the view from the patio is stunning.

The oysters are great, the steak is juicy, the fish sandwich is delicious and the salad is fresh. You can’t go wrong. One year later we went back again. Reservations are preferred but we got a seat in the bar area and everything was just as good. Keep it up!

The view at Madrona is amazing! The staff was friendly. We tried the Madrona Burger and the Fish and Chips. The burger was really good, but the fish and chips were amazing. Hands down the best tartar I’ve ever had!

Great place for lunch. We had the fish and chips, blue cheese salad, pesto chicken and fish sandwich.

We had 5:30 reservations (made the night before) and were seated right away. Such a nice view and great atmosphere to enjoy a meal together. We ended up sharing the spinach salad and 3 piece fish and chips, which was more than enough food. Everything tasted delicious! The staff were friendly and helpful. We never felt rushed.

Great view of the bay in a quaint building with old wood flooring and walls. I had the steamer clams which was nothing short of delicious. My wife had fish tacos which were also very good except for the coleslaw which tasted like they were filtered through a sweaty jock strap. Service was slow, but in their defense, it was very crowded and there were only 2 servers. We’ll be back, but not for the coleslaw.

The gnocchi was extremely soft and felt almost like raw dough but otherwise everything was delicious.

Probably my second favorite restaurant on the island (shout out to Matthew’s Smokehouse). The seafood was yummy and I like being able to see the sea while eating it so bravo for location. It does make you contemplate the discount you could get if you just threw yourself over the railing of this fine establishment (don’t. Its too shallow).

Since the Madrona is one of the only upscale restaurants open this February, I might have set my expectations a bit high. I reserved a table days in advance and got a nice table for two by the window, but we were served by the bartender rather than a server. She did her best, but had responsibilities behind the bar and didn’t know the menu very well. The service was disappointing, but the food was pretty good, the steak delicious, the salmon a bit dry.

I’ve visited orcas for 30 years – so for those who said amazing view, you have other options right in town. White Horse or New Fig among others. Rosario if you don’t mind a 15 min drive out of town.
