If you’re looking for a hidden gem, The Madison Hop is it! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and attentive service that made us feel right at home. I tried the “Quacks” diner a few years ago (the diner that The Madison Hop replaced) and it was dirty and the food was below average. I was bummed as it’s about 15 minutes away and I had to drive a decent way to get a good breakfast. I think it was at the end of its lifespan. I’m pleased to say after my first visit today The Madison Hop is the complete opposite. The space has been renovated tastefully and smelled and felt clean. The coffee wasn’t the typical gross/cheap Folgers coffee, which was a pleasant surprise and the western omelet, home fries and white bread toast was delicious and fresh tasting. The omelet was expertly prepared with perfectly cut/diced and slightly precooked fresh veggies and the ham was the best I’ve had in a long time (locally sourced and delicious). The home fries weren’t that frozen trash, they were real potatoes, diced and perfectly fried. You can tell the food is prepared by someone who cares. The menu is simple, something I like to see. No weird stuff, just simple back to basic diner food done well. I’m really grateful to have such a top notch diner close to home where I can get food made with love for a good price in a clean environment. I just hope others realize how special a place like this is to have. I think they will. Thanks and keep up the great work Madison Hop! – Justin

The food is amazing. It is always super consistent and they are very accommodating to anything changes you want to make. The wait staff is super friendly. Definitely the best diner in the area. We go once a week because we love it so much.

I’ve been going to and even worked at the location “Known as The Madison Hop” for over 48 years. I was there recently with my wife and High School friend Jeff for Breakfast. The service was Tops, The Menu easy to navigate, The food was served quickly and fresh. The Hope has never looked better (I used to have to mop, strip, wax, and clean those floors). Thank you – A Great Asset for Madison – Great food for the customer.

My partner Anthony and I went in for breakfast today. This was our first time since it became the Hop. What s pleasant surprise! It was neat and clean, and Carrie and Kelly were very nice! The waffle was delicious and the home fries were crispy, not soggy. Anthony had a Reuben and he liked it. We will be back again!

I’ve eaten here a few times now and every time the food and service have been excellent. I’ve had the pancakes, an omelet, home fries, a burger, fries, all delicious, but the best is the biscuits and gravy. That’s what I keep coming back for. The place is not fancy but it’s clean and practical, as you’d expect from a diner. I recommend!
