We took my nephew to his favorite place to eat for his birthday. We’ve been several times and for the most part, the food was decent and the service was good. However, this visit, we had to literally search for our waitress to get refills, although she was very nice. There was a guy that was walking around us, seemingly available to help when we couldn’t find our waitress, but who told us on several occasions that he was “not working” at the time and refused us service. I ordered a key lime pie for dessert……tried to cut it with my fork and it was rock hard. Finally took a bite and it tasted freezer burnt, like it has been in the freezer a very long time. I told them that I couldn’t eat it because it tasted horrible. Anyone who knows me, knows that I’d let a LOT OF THINGS GO, rather than complain. The waitress was told that they can’t take it off my receipt because I’ve “touched it.” I took my receipt AND the pie to the register to explain why I couldn’t eat it and that it tasted horrible. The manager told me that it wasn’t old and they order their pies weekly to get them fresh. I expressed again how bad and old it tasted and how I even let a family member taste it as well to be sure that it wasn’t just me. She again, says that the pie was not old and that it’s supposed to be hard like that. I finally just said, nevermind, we just won’t be back. We had a party of about 20 that spent a total of no less than $300 but they refused to refund me $5 for old pie that I could not eat. The guy that was hanging around even told the manager that I was being rude and that “he wouldn’t give any of them refills(a few asked for refills towards the end of our meal) since the girl in the denim jacket (me) was being so rude.” Needless to say, I had no choice but to render a very low scoring review. I’ve never been treated so horribly in a place of business in my entire life. We will NEVER return and will NEVER recommend Madden Crab to anyone.

Host had attitude. We were lied to. Never got refills. Didn’t get my extra eggs I paid for. Our crab was overcooked. And the manager got an attitude when we ask for the ticket to be made right. Saying the server, who lied, has been there several years and didnt lie to us. Lost some very frequent customers!

I use to love Madden crab a few months ago because it was very fresh, had great flavor, and left wanting more. Lately the last 3 months that I’ve been its been more watery and less seasoned. Also the crab legs taste a old and not cooked enough.

We stopped here after a late-night football game. We arrived just before 10pm, and it was advertised that they close at 11. However, upon arrival, the hostess had to check to see if we could be served because they stop serving food at 10. Luckily, we were able to order seafood boils, and they were hands down some of the best I have ever had! I had the shrimp and sausage and my husband had one with crab too. Our server was one of the kindest people we’ve ever met. He was so polite and accommodating and I wish I would have caught his name.

I wasn’t there for this visit, but this is my family we’re talking about — and I know they’re not the type to exaggerate or cause a scene. The way they were treated at Madden Crab in Tupelo is ridiculous and completely unacceptable. When you spend hundreds of dollars somewhere, the least you expect is decent service and a little respect. For a manager to argue over a $5 dessert and defend an employee who flat-out refused to help customers is wild. It’s not about the pie — it’s the principle. If that’s how they handle loyal customers, I can promise you my family and I won’t be back either.

This place gave me food poisoning & I’m never going back. The management was rude and requested to take sausage out of my bag when I had an issue with my order. Bad service overall & I have been a frequent regular but this visit was the last straw.

Nice beachy atmosphere! Very clean. Staff was top notch! Food was delicious and portions were large. Was able to substitute fries with corn cobs. Wonderful place!!! Highly recommend!!

Paper on tables, plastic ware and baskets, no plates. Breaded shrimp was finely done, no shells in it. Fish was saltier than most fish. Tartar sauce was rather bland. Cocktail sauce was good. Expensive considering lack of frills. They do serve two dinner rolls and butter, with plastic knife.
