Absolutely stunning cocktail bar with amazing drinks! Our bartender Nick was knowledgeable and hilarious. We had such a great time, the drinks were all incredibly well made. Service was impeccable. We will absolutely be back! I would highly recommend stopping in if you love classic cocktails.

What a gem! Excellent cocktails, professional staff, and AMAZING food. The short rib egg rolls are a must, and their crispy Brussels sprouts are the best I’ve ever had. I had to stop myself from licking the plate.

Popped here for a couple of drinks.
As a cocktail lounge I wouldn’t describe it as a true lounge feel, especially when you have a pool table in a back room which doesn’t match the nicer decor of the bar area.
The bar and main area was well presented without truly feeling upscale.
The bar tenders were quite knowledgeable and poured a decent cocktail, but my smoked old fashioned left a little to be desired (quite basic in flavor and presentation).
The menu was unfortunately out of date as we tried to order 2 seasonal festive cocktails from the menu, only to be told they were no longer served.
It was nice to find a VT style cocktail lounge, even if it isn’t quite the same as the standard in NY or Boston.

Love the atmosphere. Finally a really nice place in Rutland to have a cocktail/mock tail and a bite to eat. The drinks were amazing and so fresh. The staff was super nice and we all really enjoyed ourselves. We will be back any chance we get.

Such a nice atmosphere. Smoke show owner. Great staff. Love going to a place with an actual cocktail menu even if I don’t choose to order from it every visit. Rutland has a hard time with change and is usually incredibly behind the ball with anything new. I mean, they just recently started listening to Nirvana. I hate to see how they react when they find out about what happens to Kurt Cobain in 1994. The Mad Rose is a breathe of fresh air and an amazing way to unwind after a long day.
