Love Anita and the crew! Food is always awesome and everyone that works there is very fun and friendly.. Every time we get new guests that visit the hotel here in Brownville I always tell them to go have lunch there and they are never disappointed!!

I had the beef brisket burger, which was so spectacular it briefly made me question all my past burger choices. My wife, meanwhile, tucked into a chicken salad croissant with the air of someone who had just discovered a new and better reason for living.

The Lyceum is the perfect restaurant for a friendly atmosphere and delicious food. The staff is extremely friendly and always greet you with a smile!! It a place where hometown folks always run into one another. The homemade desserts are out of this world. Their prime rib is moist and delicious. Their buffet is always full of delicious salads, main and side dishes. They offer daily specials that you may order off the menu. They prepare take out meals for those on the go. Please go visit these hardworking and friendly folks!! There is also plenty of seating in this hometown restaurant.

Can’t say enough good things about this place! Check their facebook page for current hours and menus. According to our waitress the menu can change on a weekly basis, as well as the hours. Our waitress was so nice and didn’t miss an opportunity to refill our drinks. The atmosphere was quaint and gave homey, small-town vibes. Both of us enjoyed the food as well! I ordered the brisket, and for the money I spent, I thought I would get much much less. But I got several strips of smokey, juicy, and delicious meat with great sides. They are generous with their portions, as well as their smiles! If they are open at a convenient time for you, I’d highly recommend stopping in. I will be back!

The service and food was good. The tomato bisque soup had a strong tomato flavor, I personally prefer a bisque with a creamy base. The gumbo had a tomato base similar to that of a vegetable soup. The chicken salad on a croissant was a bit runny but had great flavor with bits of celery for a good crunch and the coleslaw was real good. The portion of meatballs and gratin potatoes was huge. The potatoes didn’t have any sign of cheese and they were a bit dry, like the consistency of dry mashed potatoes. The meatballs had a good flavor and were good sized. I liked the art work displayed on the walls.

First time partaking in this lil gem! Family friendly, small town, country feel. The fried chicken was like momma made it with a side of real mashed potatoes, corn, roll and butter! Topped it off with pie! I would have loved to have banana or coconut cream but the apple and chocolate were delicious! Will be back!
