I had such a wonderful experience coming here! I started off with the lychee passion, which I loved, and for an appetizer I tried the crispy prawns and the octopus skewers which were both delicious, and the octopus was one of my favourite dishes of the night as it was absolutely packed with flavour. For the main I tried the garlic noodles which was excellent, rich and so flavourful, and I also got a special—braised bbq pork over sticky rice cakes. This was another one of my favourites of the night and recommended by our server. The food was perfect. To end it off, I tried the three layer dessert, also recommended by our server (who was super lovely and helpful with her suggestions), and it was one of my favourite desserts I’ve had in a long time. It wasn’t too sweet and the combination of the coconut gelato and strawberry red bean puree were perfect together.
I can’t wait to go back and try more from this menu! This is some of the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in Vancouver.

We had a reservation on a Sunday night and arrived early, we ordered 3 small plates, 1 signature dish, 1 fried rice, 2 desserts and drinks. Loved the charcoal aroma on the octopus skewers, and the crispy rice in the crab fried rice really elevated the overall texture.

Mark was around and absolutely wonderful, great vibes all night! He gave spot on recommendations, helped us pick the dishes, checked in and all. It was a lovely experience with him taking care of us. Thanks again Mark!

One of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver! The Wagyu is very tender and the pho soup is so rich. The pho portion is quite big so I would share between two people. Beef carpaccio has a hint of tanginess and is very refreshing. I liked the beef as well but it wasn’t a standout. The pandan coffee was also so delicious. The dessert was such a highlight though the sweet coconut cold ice cream with soft pandan rice cake holy heaven

Great food and great service. I am a strict critique of broth and I dare to say that they had the best beef broth I have ever tasted. Full of aromatic spices and with the perfect hit of spice. The steak was buttery and soft and melted in my mouth. The sauce was also very aromatic and it was a great version of traditional western pepercorn sauce. We also got the three layer cake and it was the perfect dish to finish off the meal. I did not had a bad bite here and everything was top notch. The service was fast and the servers were very friendly and knowledgeable.
The only critique I had was that the chairs and the table did not feel very comfortable. The chair were plastic and very weak and a bit off balance and this was unfortunately the case with the table and it was very wobbly. Also the table size for two was really small and it was hard to easily share the dishes. If you fix that every thing would be 5/5.
I will be back to try more!

Viet-french fusion, absolutely incredible. For a moment I felt like I was in a fancy restaurant in Saigon again. It wins in the details, and the price is a great deal. Although the ribeye isn’t the largest, it’s priced relatively, and absolutely delicious.

The carpaccio dumped with lime vinegrette, the XO noodles with burnt edges, peppers, egg, and parmesan, the asian style peppercorn sauce; It’s one of those memorable rare moments where serious restaurant foodies get to say “wow, I haven’t tasted something like this before”.

This place is instantly on my list of “If someone is visiting me in Vancouver I take them here”.

Hands down one of the BEST Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver, Canada! My biggest recommendation is to make reservations in advance since there could be a line BUT walk ins are always welcomed. Food was delicious (Wagyu Bone Beef Pho TOP BEST!) and the service was great. We thank our server Chloe for being kind and walking through the menu and explaining the meal to us, especially the Pho. We can’t wait to travel back again!

Food was very tasty, but not cheap. Got the deep fried prawns for $24. They left the skin on and deef fried it. I usually dont eat this part, but it was very good. I guess once you deep fry anything, it tastes good . The steak luc lac was $45 and very good as well. We added the waffle fries which came with some gravy sauce drizzled on top. Its salty and go some good flavor….i just wished they had ketchup! Yes, i need ketchup with my fries, but surprisingly there was none so i couldn’t fully enjoy it. Lastly the crab fried rice was $34. This is the most expensive fried rice i have tried and it didnt disappoint. Real crab pieces were decorated on top. They give soya sauce to pour into it….don’t think you need to put too much in since the fried rice had enough flavor.

The service from everyone tonight was great. Very fun and welcoming atmosphere.

Lunch Lady is hands down the best Vietnamese food I’ve had in my life. From the moment you walk in, the staff make you feel like family. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve.

The taro chips with aioli are absolutely unreal and addictive in the best way. Every dish we tried was exceptional, with standout highlights including the steak with waffle fries, the garlic noodles, and the desserts, which were the perfect way to finish an already incredible meal.

This is the kind of place you go for a special occasion, or anytime you want a truly great meal. Amazing food, amazing people, and an atmosphere that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend.

Overall, great food, friendly service. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that for some of the dishes we had, you can get similar quality / taste elsewhere for less. Would still recommend trying.

Standouts: pho and beef carpaccio. Broth is so flavourful and clean. Carpaccio is truly a blend of flavours and textures. Worth it.

Pretty good: garlic noodles and crab fried rice. both dishes best shared – you just need a little to get a good taste of what they’re about. both a little heavy & rich (I wasn’t expecting them to be light – just highlighting that they’re very rich and heavy).

Would not order again: spring rolls (pork) and octopus skewers. it’s not that they’re NOT good , they’re tasty – we just didn’t find them to be amazing must haves. they’re still good quality.

it’s great to see a place like this doing well. the staff are all proud of what they’re delivering and you can tell there’s a vibe/culture there. places like this push food culture forward.

I’ve been to Lunch Lady before and have loved it, but I was extremely disappointed from today’s experience. After 5 hours of driving to Vancouver, we were really looking forward to this restaurant being our first stop.

We sat at the bar and ordered soft shell crab, spring rolls, stir fried noodles, and the house fried rice.

The soft shell crab was a bit heavy in breading, but overall the appetizers were pretty good.

However, we waited almost 50 minutes for our mains to come. The house fried rice came first, which was the biggest shock and disappointment. There were probably 6 tiny morsels of shrimp, and like occasional little coins of chinese sausage. The amount of “cured pork belly” was laughable. For $24?? We were shocked at the lack of meat, as it felt like a gigantic, expensive bowl of rice with black pepper. The flavors of the meat did not come through the rice at all, and it overall felt greasy.

The stir fried noodles were better, but still nothing show-stopping. It came with some nice, tender pieces of beef and tasty, crisp vegetables. Unfortunately by the time the noodles came, we weren’t hungry anymore.

I’ve had their lunch menu and loved it. So for a more expensive dinner menu, I was expecting a lot more
