I stopped in with the wife for a quick grub and was pleasantly surprised how affordable the prices were for the meals. We had a avacado toast and french toast and enjoyed it. French toast tasted as if it was dipped in cinnamin so it made it sweeter. If your into that then GO FOR IT! Waitress was lovely and on top of everything.

Very average food and service. If you want a diner meal, this place certainly delivers, with an extensive menu of savory and sweet breakfast and lunch options. There’s just nothing particularly special about it. The place seems a bit short staffed and the food for our party of three was served lukewarm.

I had really high hopes for this place. It was recommended by a friend and after a little Googling of the menu and reviews I decided to take my daughters for breakfast before returning the oldest back to school. First impression, it was so cute and inviting – love the mismatched dinnerware and relaxed “beach” vibe – exactly the kind of place I’m always looking for in North Jersey. Unfortunately the first impression did not last. The lone waitress was very nice, showed us to a table and gave us menus. I was really excited to see biscuits and gravy on the menu as I spent a ton of time down south when I was younger and it’s my all-time favorite breakfast food and really hard to find in the Northeast. The waitress came back after about 15+ minutes to take our order – no biscuits and gravy today – disappointing but not the end of the world as there were plenty of other breakfast dishes to try.

We ordered our food and waited, and waited and waited. I watched two different parties come in and eventually leave in that time- because no one had come to even give them menus. It was no fault of the waitress, she was busting her butt trying to get to everyone. Someone, who I believe was the owner came out and I thought she was going to help the overworked waitress but she spent 15 minutes talking about making a milkshake (I’m not sure it was ever made as she kept saying well I don’t have this or that). I was starting to get kind of nervous because by this time we had been there for over 45 minutes and hadn’t even gotten our food yet and we were starting to be crunched for time. Our food finally arrived, and everything was cold. Not just lukewarm, but actually cold and there were things missing from the order as well. Not having enough time to get any of this rectified, we just ate what we could, paid our bill and left – All three of us pretty disappointed with the experience.

While it was disappointing, I’m hoping it was just a bad day. The potential seems great and the menu and reviews that I read were excellent. I may try it again, but not on a Sunday morning, there was just not enough staff to make it run smoothly. My advice would be to hire another waitress, and if you see that your staff is overwhelmed, and people are waiting a long time for everything maybe pour some drinks, run out some orders – Because watching that one waitress struggle to keep up while there were other people not seeming really doing anything was frustrating especially because I believe it was the owner behind the counter.

I love this place they make the best benny’s. Hit or miss when they deliver. One came with no eggs, the other had such done under eggs that the white and yoke arrived separate. Was not expecting french fries either, breakfast potato’s is usually what they come with.

What is there not to love about this place. Delicious homemade brunch. Everything is cooked to perfection and with love and care. The owner is a sweetheart and always around catering to your needs. It’s like a little oasis, hope away from home. The decor is super unique. I’m a coffee aficionado and was so glad that the coffee was great too! We had the egg omelets and waffles and they were wonderful! Haven’t tasted waffles with such perfect texture in a really long time. Decadent and airy at the same time. Will definitely be back with more friends and family. Thank you for such great food and service!

Best breakfast place I’ve ever been to so far!
I loved my French toast, that was the favorite part of my meal. It was warm, soft and moist; perfect combination. My omelette was well prepared. The breakfast potatoes tasted homemade they were perfect.
The coffee tasted a bit watered down but that’s my personal preference aside from that I was completely satisfied with my meal and the service provided.

I love the decor and the tv with the fish wall paper was a cute. I love the atmosphere and how the staff interacted with their regulars.
I would definitely recommend anyone to check them out.

There’s a special establishment where it always feels like summer even when there’s a forecast of the returned polar vortex winds.

Located on Van Houten in Clifton, we were greeted upon entering the Love of Grub by the staff at this bright and colorful Key West-esque vibe, very relaxed and laid back as first-timers. With the music of Bertie Higgins “Key Largo” playing in the background, my partner and I got a table immediately. The interior featured a cozy, vintage charm with its rustic wooden furniture and an abundance of natural light streaming through the large front windows.

Their menu serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch with vegetarian, keto-friendly, and gluten-free choices available upon request. We decided on the cheesesteak with a side of sweet potato fries and the chicken pesto wrap with a small garden salad.

After trying multiple cheesesteaks in Jersey and NYC, this restaurant came out a winner with the right balance of mushrooms, onions, and peppers with real American cheese, not from out of a can. The chicken pesto wrap was equally delicious with the fresh homemade pesto grown from the owner’s garden. The food was exceptional; one could tell everything was made from scratch, like you were in your family’s kitchen getting food made with love.

We were able to exchange words with the owner/chef, Tracey. She definitely puts her heart and soul into every aspect of her business and is dedicated to providing customers with the tastiest, freshest food possible. She’s a remarkable woman who gives back to the community by cooking for Clifton’s warming center for people experiencing homelessness.

From the moment we walked through the door, the staff’s friendliness and welcoming smiles set the tone for a memorable meal. They were attentive and knowledgeable and made us feel right at home, especially our server, Galvan. The price was comparable to the area.

This is one of those places where, if one were to ask the locals where they recommend eating, this would be on their list, which we can recommend.

Very cool atmosphere and so very clean!!! The staff is wonderful and the food is great , the sausage patties are homemade and my brother said delicious, and their prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend everyone try the love of grub!
Returned today, 3/8/23, to try their lunch. I had a cheeseburger on a toasted potato roll with sweet potato fries and it was absolutely delicious ! My brother had the pizza burger equally as delicious and my mother had the French toast also delicious. The cheeseburgers are handformed from real beef! It’s not a frozen patty! This is a great place!
