I had the pleasure of visiting The Lot At Edgewater for the first time when I met up with some dear friends, and what a great find it turned out to be! From start to finish, everything about our experience hit the mark.
The restaurant itself is relatively new and has a beautifully designed interior with an open, airy layout. Sunlight pours in through large windows, creating a bright and cheerful atmosphere that feels both modern and welcoming. It’s clean, thoughtfully arranged, and spacious without losing that cozy charm. Our group of five fit perfectly and comfortably, but you can tell it can suit anything from a brunch date to a bigger celebration.
Our server, David VG, was outstanding, clearly living up to those “Very Good” initials! Friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without being intrusive. His service genuinely enhanced the overall experience. Thanks, David!
Now, on to the food, which absolutely blew me away. Everything was served hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The portions were very generous; if you walk away hungry, it’s your own fault! The crab bisque deserves its own moment of praise, hands down, the best I’ve ever had. David even shared that it’s so beloved, the restaurant doesn’t even bother offering a second soup. Trust me, they don’t need to.
For our entrees, we had a mix of four sandwiches and one breakfast dish, and every single plate was a hit. Generous, flavorful, and satisfying. We wrapped up the meal with a shared order of beignets, which were awesome but an enormous portion, we almost couldn’t finish them… but we dug deep and made it happen! Soft, warm, and dusted in sugar paired with both a chocolate and mixed berry jam, the perfect sweet finale.
In summary: If you’re local, this should already be in your rotation. And if you’re within an hour’s drive, make the trip, you won’t regret it. The Lot At Edgewater is a fresh, delicious, and genuinely enjoyable spot that’s definitely worth your time. I will absolutely be back!
We did make reservations which I highly recommend, especially if you have a larger party.
Excellent experience — the food was really good and the portions sizeable (we took a doggy bag to go that will serve for tomorrow night’s meal in). This place is one of those upscale casual spots, where you’ll see patrons range from ladies in full makeup and tracksuits to someone like me, who overdresses for the grocery store. Fortunately, no one made me feel weird about my vintage fur. 😉
Our server was efficient, friendly, but not overly ebullient, which is fine if you’re giving good service and doing what you need to do. I felt a weird urge to win her approval though, which I chalk up to the fact that I’m a people- pleasing elder millennial. But I digress. My partner’s steak was cooked to perfection, our shared apps flavorful and well plated without being fussy, and the drinks were good, though I must admit I found Hubby’s smoked whiskey cocktail a bit on the sweet side. I blame the suburban crowd and their insatiable hunger for glucose. :))
I am not someone who you could pay to give a shit about sports, but if you are, you’re in luck — big screens showing tennis, basketball, and ice hockey just on the random Tuesday night we were here. And a tv-free back patio if you don’t want that, either.
Overall, absolutely lovely place to go. Nice atmosphere, easy to park, very easy to make a reservation online, efficient service, great staff. There’s a cigar bar we have yet to check out, so we’ll be doing that next time we come in. I’ll probably skip the fur on that visit.
It’s a little pricey, but the food is delicious and the portions are generous.
Crispy pancakes are perfect and plate sized! They reheat well too.
The lamb is my favorite for dinner.
Everything else we tried was solid, too. The menu has a good mix, and the food came out fresh and well-cooked. No complaints from anyone at the table, which doesn’t happen often with a big group.
Overall, it was a great spot with great food. Definitely worth checking out, and I’d go back just for that crab soup.
The charge for credit card use is 1.5% to 3.5%. Why do you charge your patrons 4%? Why are the restrooms cold (in winter)? Why is the main dining room cold? (in winter)?
And my MAIN BEEF is, why can’t you spring for some long sleeved thermal shirts in Navy Blue with your logo on it for your servers. You keep buying up restaurants. I can guarantee you, the long sleeved T’s are a lot cheaper!
One of the biggest advantages is the location—close to major roads and nearby destinations, which saves time and hassle. The area feels safe, and overall it’s a reliable place to park when you need something straightforward and stress-free.
Their food is amazing and is really worth your money. There pancakes are ginormous, there waffles are cooked perfectly, and it has great options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I’d definitely recommend the Edgewater lot to anyone looking for a convenient and dependable parking option in Pittsburgh.
