This place is cool, just not for me nor my husband. We ordered take out, 1/4 burger, 1/2 burger, a chef salad with added fried chicken, & cowboy bites. My son and husband said the burgers were great!!!! My salad was okay, too many shredded carrots, no ham which comes on the chef salad but they did add my chicken. I asked for hard boiled egg, the cook came out and asked if I wanted a fried egg I said no, the server was 3 days in so she didn’t know, they refunded me 3.25 for the egg I couldn’t believe an egg would cost that. Total bill after egg refund was $54 and some change. I almost passed out when we were given our total. We won’t return but the burgers they liked and the cowboy bites were delicious. Too pricey for me, they weren’t a fan of the fries.

I ordered the texas firecracker well done with tots. The burger and bacon on it were cooked perfectly. The cross section looks as good as it taste. Also ordered the banana pudding which was rich and sweet. Loved it will be coming back for sure!

Great food, friendly staff and it’s a bar too.

My burger was seasoned well and juicy, seared to perfection and everything on it was fresh. You can’t get that at a fast food joint. That burger made my day.

I truly hate to write this review because the staff at Lonestar Burger Bar are genuinely nice people, and even the cook came out to apologize for the long wait. However, the conditions under which they are working are simply unacceptable. It’s summer, and I’m sure they are aware that the restaurant is unbearably hot for dining in and waiting for food. The heat inside was overwhelming, and it’s clear that they need to invest in a new air conditioning unit. Additionally, it was evident that there weren’t enough staff members on duty to handle the volume of customers, which put immense pressure on the poor girl who was trying her best to manage everything.

Now, let’s talk about the food. I must say, the burgers were quite good, and I had ordered fried pickles that tasted really good as well. However, considering my long drive, I felt that I could have been compensated for the distance, especially since the main item I came to get—the banana pudding—wasn’t delivered properly.

I had previously purchased the banana pudding from them and was impressed by its beautiful presentation and delightful taste. However, my experience on June 20, 2025, was far from satisfactory. My sister ordered three banana puddings—two for me and one for her. When the pudding reached me, it had spilled all over the bag. It was clear that they knew the pudding was leaking, yet it seemed like no one cared to fix it. I was appalled and told my sister that this was unacceptable.

To be fair, when I called to speak with the manager, Izzy, she was very apologetic and offered to remake the puddings. She informed me that it would take a bit of time because they were preparing homemade toppings instead of the whipped topping. I appreciated her willingness to rectify the situation, especially since I had driven from Dallas to Red Oak, which is quite a trek.

However, the issues continued. There was only one attendant taking orders, which was commendable for her, but it resulted in a long wait. After an additional 50 minutes, I finally received my hamburger, but to my disappointment, it wasn’t warm—it was cold. Who wants to warm up a burger that has extra mayo on it? When they brought the remade pudding back out, it was melted and spilling over once again. They took it back, only to inform me that they had run out of pudding to make more. To add insult to injury, they had the audacity to charge me for the one pudding that managed to stay intact after my long drive. I felt that, given the circumstances, I should not have been charged anything, especially after the long wait and the inconvenience of having to return.

I expressed my dissatisfaction to the attendant, who suggested checking with the manager about removing the charge. However, after waiting an hour already, I declined. I left feeling frustrated and unappreciated as a customer.

In conclusion, while I appreciate the effort of the staff and the quality of the food when it’s done right, the service and conditions at Lonestar Burger Bar need significant improvement. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to enhance the overall experience for their customers. I’ve attached pictures of how the pudding was presented to me, which I believe speaks volumes about the need for better quality control.

As for veggie in the burgers, sauce on the side. Not done for both burgers, the fried pickles was dry, flavors was ok. But the crunch of it wasn’t pleasant.
Second time we ate here, first time both burgers was red in center. Both us asked well. I asked for medium. Came home both solid red. Had to microwave to make them eatable.
I’d eat here again. But small details may make me second think it

This is a great place to eat. I ordered a build-your-own cheeseburger and sweet potato fries to go. I shared a photo of the fries—most were burnt, but a few were really good. Still giving four stars because the burger was great and the overall experience was positive. I recommend dining here, but if you’re getting takeout, it’s a good idea to check your order before leaving.

This is a home style burger joint with good people. This was our first time, but they made us feel like we’ve been there forever. The menus had a lot of interesting choices to choose from & they’ll custom make it for you. Everything was made to order, so it was fresh. We enjoyed everything we ordered & can’t wait to try more items. This is a hidden gem. They just opened another location in Midlothian.

I ordered a medium rare Quarter Pounder Outlaw Burger — quarter pound of meat? Check out the photos and judge for yourself. Medium rare? More like burnt.

The fries were old and hard, clearly not fresh.

I’m giving this two stars only because this was my second time here. The first visit was amazing and the reason I came back. Unfortunately, this visit sealed the deal in the opposite direction.

On a positive note, Patty was extremely nice and offered to let me come back for another burger. I really appreciate that gesture, but I live 15 minutes away, and my lunch break was already over, so it ended up being a wasted lunch.

To make matters worse, there was no manager on staff to address the issue or rectify the situation. Overall, DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY, MOST IMPORTANTLY, YOUR TIME!!

Braylon was our server and he did an EXCELLENT job. He was attentive and cordial. The food was fresh and came out very quickly. It was good. This was my first time here and I have found a new burger joint! Sorry I didn’t get pics. I didn’t think about it until I was done eating.
