We, and our dogs, went to Trapper’s Lake for an “off the grid” weekend getaway. The cabins are rustic, there is no plumbing in the cabins, there is electricity in the cabins from approximately 0630-2030 (then it’s lights out unless you have a lantern/flashlight), the cabins are heated, if needed. The shower house is very close to the cabins & it is heated, has indoor plumbing, & are very clean (electricity limitations apply to the shower house as well). The staff is very friendly, personable, attentive, & available after hours if needed. The lodge is clean, great view/atmosphere, & the food is delicious (the cheeseburgers are amazing). There are several activities available to enjoy your day; the location/views are absolutely amazing, & there is wildlife going about their day as well. They say “Sometimes you need to climb higher to be more grounded” & I definitely recommend Trapper’s Lake, it was a great experience & we will definitely be back!!

The Lodge at Trapper’s Lake is in a gorgeous part of Colorado. The cabins were rustic (had heat 24/7 and electricity approx. 8am-9:30p) but nice and clean and the food at the Lodge was delicious. We did dinner all three nights-get reservations because it’s a popular place to eat including for those who stay at the campground near by. We did a half day horseback ride and the horses were so sweet and our guides were excellent. We will definitely be going back soon!

Stayed in one of the original 1-room cabins. Comfy even though it was small. The food at the lodge was delicious, and the staff were wonderful across the board.

Our family stayed for four nights to celebrate a few birthdays. We had such a great time! The food was amazing, Becca and her staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the cabins were very cool. We rented two cabins side by side and enjoyed the quiet evenings by the fire. There was a great variety of things to do outdoors during the day too. We loved our stay-it was very special!

We had an amazing time at the Trappers Lake Lodge. Our room was very clean and the bathhouse was also clean and very functional. The setting is absolutely unique, even given my 62 years living in Colorado and traveling around the world.
The restaurant was a highlight especially after a day of high mountain hiking and fishing. I’m a foodie and this restaurant is excellent and the food creative and delicious.
I looked forward to seeing the owners Becca and Alen every morning during coffee. They are wonderful kind people that inspired us with their hard work and the way they work along side their staff. Their care and support for those that work for them was really beautiful.
We had an unreal day fishing a remote and untouched stretch of the White River lead by our guide Alan (yes the owner). He was steady and ready to lift me out of the river whenever I fell in! oh man the fishing was epic.
I’ve never enjoyed an outdoor experience more and would highly recommend you make the trip up for a one of a kind immersion into one of Colorado’s best kept secret, the Colorado Flat Tops.

Great place to tune out for the weekend. Bathrooms were clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and attentive. Cabins were clean and well kept. Walking distance to Trappers Lake, and other creeks and lakes for great fishing opportunities. Would definitely recommend. I cooked on a camp stove, but the food options looked pretty great when I visited the cafe area.

Wonderful place to stay and disconnect. Rustic, but with awesome food and a location that can’t be beat. It is run by a family that cares deeply about your experience in the Flat Tops Wilderness

As always, we love hiking to Trapper Lake Lodge and staying for a couple nights. The simplicity and remoteness of the setting are wonderful. The reason the atmosphere was a lower rating is because the three days we stayed there, the garbages were never empty and garbages outside in the bathrooms were overflowing. This was the only setback (a fixable one) to a very enjoyable stay.

Won’t return. Beautiful location, cabins are cute and clean, staff is friendly, but I don’t think we got more than 3 hrs sleep due to noisy neighbors, who obviously paid no attention to quiet hour rules. We were in cabin 15A, and some family, noisy kids, barking dog and friends(?) in the adjoining 15B appropriated all deck chairs, fire pit, picnic table and had their junk all over the deck. Along with a large bottle of whiskey, they were up until midnight with bad music, kids yelling & crying, dog barking, splitting firewood outside our window. We asked them to tone it down, which apparently meant nothing, and the walls in the cabin were so thin and did nothing to block noise and the repeated opening and closing/slamming of their squeaky door about 50 times didn’t help. I would have contacted staff, but there is apparently no way to do that. In the end, a nylon-walled tent in the campground would likely have been more quiet and restful. Do not recommend staying in a double cabin unless you know who your neighbors will be or you don’t care if you get to actually sleep. A very disappointing experience that I won’t repeat.
