Really cool place with enclosed booths and comfortable seating. The decor is like walking into an old world upscale establishment with tall ceilings, chandeliers and rich dark carved wood.

Elegant crystal glass panels add to the charm and elevate the experience. Professional servers meet your every need with politeness and confidence.

And the food was an array of traditional Irish fare and delicious and exquisitely plated.

Came in during what appeared to be a pretty big deal hockey game. We asked if they could put on a college basketball game and they totally made it happen without interrupting anyone watching hockey. Our service was excellent as was the corn beef and sheppards pie. Such a cool place.

We visited The Local as a family the day after Christmas. I made a reservation online for the max number of people allowable on the online platform, but we had a total of 12 (which I realize is a sizeable dining group). The restaurant at 5:30 pm was not terribly busy and we were eventually able to request a table where we could all sit together, the server and hostess were noticeably annoyed with us (again, I totally understand the big group), but I felt they could have been a bit more cordial and professional, especially considering they get a 20% tip automatically for large groups. At the end of the day, let’s all be decent to each other. There’s no need for passive aggressiveness.

Overall, the food was just okay for the higher price tag. I had the fish and chips and it tasted identical to cheaper Irish pubs in the suburbs. However, it was still tasty and I think everyone enjoyed. The pretzel appetizer had some tasty spicy dipping sauce!

The decor and style inside the restaurant is very pretty! We live next to the person who did all the woodworking for the bar. Very cool.

I visited as part of a party at 6 at lunchtime on a Saturday. It was only moderately busy, which made for a quiet, enjoyable environment. The brunch menu was in effect, which had a mix of breakfast and later-day items. While most of my party ordered breakfast, I had a salad with added chicken. The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist and flavorful, and the whole salad was wonderful. I really loved the candied walnuts and wish I knew where they got them! Service was great the whole time, too, with the separate checks handled in good time.

We went on a Wednesday around 5pm and it wasn’t too busy. Service was pretty fast and server was helpful and kind. The happy hour items aren’t listed on the menu so you have to ask but I believe it was $2 off tap beers and half off appetizers – GREAT DEALS! If you sign up for their rewards system, you get $10 off your first bill and then begin to rack up savings for future visits. Enjoyed our visit and would go again!

So, in the initial first view, it looked a little interesting. Once going inside, though, I was enjoying the designs on the windows, ceiling above the bar, and the overall feel of it. It was very slow, so there was a minute of wait out of them checking on the few that were there. The employees there were very kind in allowing me to take pics when asking to, which I’m glad of.

So, for food:

I got the appetizer of the knot pretzel. It comes with a side of cheese and very spicy mustard, but I opted for just cheese. The pretzel had a nice flavor and wasn’t flooded with salt, which I’m glad of. The cheese that came with it had a nice tiny spice as well. I loved the detail of there being a “newspaper” article under it.

For the entrée, I had a classic burger, adding bacon on it, and my partner had gotten fish and chips/fries. The bacon was smoked and tasted absolutely delicious. I let him have a small amount for taste, and he said it was good bacon with emphasis, as well. The fries/chips were expertly seasoned and crispy, so I had no problems in eating them without ketchup. The burger was well done, so I can’t fault them for if the seasoning cooked out of it a little. He had said that the fish was good, too. It’s still amazing of the large pieces he had for the fish and chips meal.

All around, at least on a Wednesday early afternoon, it was a nice time.

I got the All American Breakfast and French toast bites this time – everything was very good! I’ve been here several times for brunch and honestly you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything is good. The restaurant is never packed and I love the privacy and coziness of the booths. Service is always good too. Fave spot!
