The daily special was the shrimp and grits with the chef’s gravy, and it was absolutely delicious. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the gravy was rich and full of flavor, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. You can truly tell they care about the quality of their ingredients.
We also shared a snack tray featuring a special creation of beet hummus with fresh veggies, and it was just as impressive — bright, fresh, and so flavorful.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I especially love that all tips go toward helping feed local children on the weekends — such a beautiful example of a small local business giving back to their community.
If you’re in Tifton and want something fresh, local, and made with heart, this place is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back!
I ordered the Winter Pom Salad, which combines fresh Georgia greens, pomegranate seeds, sweet and spicy walnuts, crumbled feta, fire-grilled chicken, and their house-made fig balsamic vinaigrette. It sounded amazing, and the flavors were good, but I should have asked for the dressing on the side—there was way too much for my taste. Unfortunately, the chicken was also a bit tough and chewy, which held the dish back for me. My husband ordered the chicken salad croissant and thought it was just okay, mentioning it didn’t have a lot of flavor.
Now, the dessert absolutely stole the show. We shared the red velvet cake, and it was AMAZING—super moist, rich, and you could actually taste the chocolate. Easily the highlight of our meal.
I also really appreciated their no-tipping policy. They have signs explaining that they pay their employees a living wage and believe it’s their responsibility—not the customer’s—to do so. That’s such a refreshing and thoughtful concept.
Overall, I do recommend The Local Graze. I’d definitely come back to try something else on the menu, especially since so many other reviews are raving. With such kind staff and a great mission behind the restaurant, it’s absolutely worth a visit.
They are the sweetest folks! Gail and Karla treat you just like family ❤️
My first time trying Shrimp and Grits… DELICIOUS!!!
Oh, Mrs. Gail has a secret recipe veggie dip, get at least two containers. GET IT…. It’s good for dipping veggies, chicken wings, chips, or your empty spoon in it!
Chicken salad is delicious too!!!
And did you know they are a no-tipping restaurant?
Loved it! Super yum!
