The Local food is incredible, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can genuinely taste the quality in every bite. What makes it even better is that everything they serve is sourced locally from our area — you can feel the community pride in every dish.
Whether you’re grabbing a coffee, brunch, or a full meal, The Local delivers every time. Highly recommend!

Came in for appetizers and a couple drinks. Waited too long for drinks and then way too much longer(30+ minutes) to order our food. Cowboy poppers and poutine. Then about the time I would have expected to get my food (another 30 minutes minimum) to be told that they didn’t have the ingredients for the poutine. So ordered loaded skins and a Bloody Mary to go with the cowboy poppers. I remember why I don’t order bloody Marys here, I have never had a good one yet. Tomato juice and a salted rim.
While the food is good when you finally get it, it’s not worth the wait and consistently slow service.

We came in for my sister’s birthday after some friends had recommended it. We were very disappointed. The food looked good but it was very bland, no flavor. The service was horrible. Our server never came to check on us. There was other tables that ended up walking out because they couldn’t get anyone to take their order. We were also charged a large party gratuity fee for having 6 people. So for having horrible service, the server got a tip of over $11.00. I would never recommend this place to anyone and I did tell my friends who recommended this place about our horrible service and food and told them not to recommend them to others.

Don’t go here unless you plan on staying 3 hours. They are always understaffed. We’ve went here 5 times in the past 18 months and it is always a 2.5 to 3 hour ordeal. Last week we waited an hour and a half for lunch, then another hour for a simple happy hour appetizer we ordered to go. We ended up giving up and leaving after waiting over an hour and left before receiving the appetizer we paid for. We won’t be going back. All my Yelm friends have had the same experience and are of the same opinion.

I love the local. Today was my husband and I 29th anniversary . We were excited to check out their new seasonal menu. We arrived in time for happy hour. I had an espresso martini and my husband had several delicious drinks; The aperol negroni, the cucumber tanjin margarita, and the gin ruby. We started with the steak crostini. My meal was the steak frite, my husband ordered the chicken pie. For dessert we shared the biscoff cheesecake. The service was great. The food was excellent and used fresh ingredients and the herbs and sauces complimented the flavor of the dishes well.
I am so happy that they have such a diverse menu, even though we both ordered very traditional dishes we appreciate the introduction of the new items on the menu. Looking forward to trying out more and possibly get the weekly meal prep items. Very impressed. Thank you

Went here for the first time the other day and had an excellent dinner! Our server was great and provided good recommendations. The food and drinks were delicious. I was worried about slow service from previous reviews but I didn’t have a problem. I was there during happy hour on a Saturday (great deals) and I felt like our food and drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time. I loved the variety of dishes on the menu and look forward to coming back!

Amazing takes on American classics! This place has the best brunch in Yelm and it’s not even close! All their dishes are perfectly seasoned and their drinks pair well with their food offerings. Their bar-height seating is easy to access and they’ve usually got room in the back to the left of the bar if you have larger parties.

All Smiles!! Our family of four stopped for a late lunch. The dining room was moderately busy but shortly after sitting at our table. It got very busy. There was only one person serving at that time. Table after table were met with a glowing smile and great communication about the service expectation. Frequent apologies were offered during the waiting period of added team members arriving. What a tremendous job of managing an unexpected rush. Whether it is a server, manager or owner, this was exempory of how to handle a surge of diners. We ordered 2 cheese burgers and fries for the kids. A Reuben and fries and Lamb Gyro with fries for mom and dad. We all enjoyed our meals. The outside and dining area were decorated festively for the fall and Halloween holiday. It made it even more special for the kids. We thank the team for feeding our family and providing a fun dining experience. A last note, try a delicious spicy bloody Mary. It was well mixed and properly garnished.

Been here twice and am on a mission to try many of their dishes. Queso Brisket is the bomb. Large selection of spirits and beer too. Staff was very attentive and served with a side of humor. Can’t wait for next visit.

This was our second visit to this spot. The first time, we left due to the long wait, but we decided to give it another try, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, it was even more disappointing.
We were told the food wait time would be around 20–30 minutes, so we decided to stay. Instead, it took an hour just to have our order taken, another 30 minutes to receive our appetizer, and an additional 30 minutes for the main course to arrive.
When the food finally came, the brisket was extremely overcooked and dry. Overall, the experience was frustrating and far below expectations. We left feeling very disappointed and don’t plan to return.
