If you’re cruising through St. Augustine and your stomach starts singing a mariachi tune, pull over for a fiesta at The Little Sombrero, the taco truck that’s small in size but gigantic in flavor and charm.

Who doesn’t love a tasty steal? For just $15, I scored three glorious tacos—each packed with its own personality—and got a free drink to wash it all down. Whether you’re a carnitas connoisseur or dancing with spicy chorizo, these tacos deliver with fresh ingredients and bold flavors.

But wait—just when I thought things couldn’t get better, I requested a shrimp-stuffed burrito that came bursting with goodies. Think warm, grilled shrimp snuggled with savory bites that whispered “beachside bliss” in every mouthful.

This isn’t just a food stop—it’s a vibe. Picture plenty of cozy seating, perfect for a laid-back lunch date or a sunset taco rendezvous. Whether you’re jetting off on a road trip or just need a soulful snack, this place works like a charm.

If you haven’t been to The Little Sombrero yet, treat yourself. Seriously. Your taste buds will send you a thank-you card.

Everything was fresh and tasted awesome, but like others have said, the lady working there acted like we were bothering her.

The tacos were tasty and packed with flavor, and the shrimp was seasoned really well. But as someone who used to be a chef and has made tons of tacos, I gotta say there was way too much filling for just one tortilla. You couldn’t even pick it up without everything falling out. It should definitely be split between two tortillas. It honestly looked like enough for two tacos on one.

The queso taco was good too, just a bit greasy, but it had nice flavor with the au jus sauce.

When we got there, it wasn’t busy at all, and when we approached the food truck in the back, nobody was around. After checking out the menu, we hit the “ring for service” button. After a little while, the lady, who seemed like she was on a never-ending smoke break, walked by with a quiet “excuse me” and then came to the window. She leaned on her hand to take my order and looked really unhappy, like we interrupted her break. I should’ve just left right then, but I decided to give it a shot. She asked for my name and said my order would be ready soon. I sat down, and a few minutes later she practically shouted my name when it was done. We were the only ones sitting there waiting, so I’m sure she saw us, but she yelled like that was her usual way of calling out orders. Then she just walked away again.

Other people mentioned a guy who works there who seems way friendlier. My advice? Only go if you see him there. It takes a lot for me not to give a 4 or 5-star review, but bad customer service really ruins it here.

Stopped by for a quick lunch today and the food was so delicious. And the service was awesome. I wasn’t sure what I wanted but the lady working was so sweet and patient with me as I really had no idea what I wanted. She was so sweet as to explain some of the menu items to me. She suggested the Birria Quesa Taco and Jarritos to wash it down. It was so good. Ill defenetly be coming back.

Was happily surprised with the roasted poblano burrito! The cheese and avocado inside were delicious and there were actual veggies inside as well as the perfect amount of spicy! so grateful – thank you for the delicious meal!

I ordered the smoked chicken taco and beer battered avocado taco. My husband ordered the carnitas quesadilla. I love the smoked chicken taco, it was the second time I’ve had it. The avocado taco was ok, avocado was fresh, it just tasted too plain for me. The quesadilla was good. Service was great, server was friendly. I love the atmosphere!

Great food, but terrible service

The food at Little Sombrero was really good, but the service completely ruined the experience. The lady taking orders was rude and seemed annoyed from the moment we arrived. She was smiling and kind to other people, but with us, her attitude was unpleasant and unfriendly — which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.

I honestly don’t know if it was because we were speaking Spanish, but the difference in how she treated us was very noticeable. Sadly, even though the food was great, I wouldn’t come back after that experience.
