Hole in the wall (endearing) with solid chili and cinnamon rolls. Had a chili burger- very good! Potato salad was also good although a somewhat small portion- that said, I left full. Also a deli. Very nice employees.

Ok, this place is a bit out of the way but worth visiting if you like places that are truly rooted in local history. However, it is not fancy or even all that updated since probably the 1970s, if that. It’s a reboot of Porubsky’s which was located in the same building for 75 years, which was filled with mud in 1951. There’s a documentary about the original restaurant and the family that ran it that plays on a loop and has a lot of great interviews and historical photos. The chili is what it’s named for and the horseradish pickles are what it’s known for. They also did a pretty decent Chicago dog. The staff was friendly and patient. They also had cinnamon rolls, bottled and canned soda, and a full bar separate from the deli.

Went in search of famous horseradish pickles, apparently this business has changed hands and the pickles are not quite the same as I remember from years ago. Nonetheless service was very friendly and the pickles that they are making now were quite delightful, including a spicy version. Place was very quiet and out of the way, hope they can do something to distinguish themselves to bring visitors

I never give five stars – I just don’t. But this place is perfect and deserves your business. I’m old school and they do the porubsky cold plate and chili – except the lunch meat is much higher quality and the bread is homemade right here. They also have a daily Mexican food item on some days. Everything is homemade and the owners are super nice and can’t do enough to make sure your visit is a quality experience. They are located in the old porubsky’s grocery in Little Russia Topeka Kansas

Driving through Topeka on our way home to OR. A friend recommended this place. It was worth the visit. The food wasamazing, and the woman behind the cointer was great. We left with 2 tubs of pickles for the road. Best food weve had sll trip. Why wasn’t this place packed?

They were at the Farmer’s Market today. I have not been to Porubski’s since they were the original Porubski’s. . No one can replace Charlie’s chili because it was made with love. But there can be a new and different chili. It was absolutely wonderful. I cannot wait for winter. I’m so excited for cold days and hot chili.

I moved to Topeka recently, today was my first day trying Little Russia chili parlor. It was great! If you haven’t been, definitely go check it out. Chili and sandwiches were amazing, the family running it we’re sweet and welcoming and it was such a cool little slice of history. This place should have been packed, and I’ll definitely be going back!

Wes topped in for the first time today and it will definitely not be the last! More places need to have service like that, warm and friendly, and definitely did everything they could to make us feel welcome. Couple that with great chili and wonderful cinnamon rolls and I am a happy guy.

Got a daily special Ruben sandwich with potato salad. Also got a chili dog and BLT for my kids. Fantastic and the BLT was big enough for two and I’d put it against any BLT you’ll find. I’ll definitely be back
