Real meat pies in the South. I got a sampling to take back to hotel (the pub itself only has about 8 stools, they say they’re the smallest pub).

Cute little shop/pub. My husband and I stopped here for a snack while walking around Savannah. On the left is half of their Pork & Apple pie and on the right is half of the Pork & Blue Cheese. They serve them cold but my husband asked them to heat his. We liked it better warmed up. Their servers are very pleasant. About $20 for both pies and 2 bottles of water and tip.

This a really cute place. Service was good but alas, the apple pie was average at best. Kind of bummer since it’s a good sized piece of pie. I was yearning for more sweetness and a flakey crust. The crust had little flavor and was kind of cakey and soggy. The inside just not enough sugar and a little dry. Apple pie is such an easy thing to make so not sure what the deal was with this one. Maybe the savory pies are a better choice.

We visited on July 7th at noon. Lady behind counter was very rude. I had a 6-year old that sat at the bar and she rudely told him to get off the bar stool. I understand minors can’t sit at a bar in Georgia, but she should be nice about

Stopped in for a quick drink and I’m glad I did. This is a small but mighty place. They had a pretty decent selection of drinks. I didn’t try food but others said they loved their food. The bartender was very helpful and friendly.

Little only in size and in that there’s a little something for any Anglophile here. Full bar with cleverly named drinks with British pop culture references – from the gin heavy “Bramble On” that had me humming Led Zeppelin all day to the “Gandalf the Grey” boozy earl grey tea. Our group had both a Steak and Mushroom and a pasty. Both were absolutely outstanding. Not to be missed.

After getting our first taste of their savory pies from a food truck at Starland Yard, we were so excited to try something different from their full menu. Unfortunately, even though it was only 6:45 on a Fri night, they were down to the very last of their pies for the day, so choices were limited. We picked out two pies and they were boxed up and bagged for us and still piping hot after the 10-block walk home (the only reason for the 3-stars for food was because they didn’t have our first choices and my husband and I felt like the pies we got were on the salty side). My advice – the space is very small, with most of the available seating at the tiny bar, so if you have your heart set on a particular pie, get there early or call ahead to confirm choices and consider ordering “to go” 🙂
