I ordered takeout and the food held up really well. The creamy chicken curry was smooth, well-balanced and full of flavor. The chicken pilaf was hearty and satisfying. This combination is really good.

Looking forward to dining in next time!

First time at The Lion Indian Cuisine. I went specifically for thier dinner buffet and it was very tasty! Lots of flavor! Not a very large selection of items on the buffet list but all the essentials were there. The staff was great! Super friendly and very quick to refill your drink! The ambiance is a little weak but I was OK with it. The restaurant has a full menu to order from and it seemed to do very well with takeout orders. If you are in that area of San Antonio, I definitely recommend it for either it’s lunch or dinner buffet!

This will be my go to Indian spot from here on out. I when in on a Wednesday it was not so packed but there was definitely many DoorDash orders being picked up. They have cranberry juice as a beverage option and an open buffet for about $15 (don’t remember the exact price). The buffet selection was very broad from chicken tiki masala to chickpeas in tiki masala. They have the best cheese naans that go hand in hand with the creamy butter chicken (not included in buffet). The service was very welcoming and kind. Our host/waitress answered any questions I had about specific food combos that were on the menu. Overall, this place is a solid 10/10!

This place is amazing! The buffet has a wide variety of delicious dishes—my favorites were the Chicken Masala, Vindaloo, Paneer Pakoras, Tandoori Chicken, Saag Paneer, Goat Biryani, and garlic naan. I love that the naan is on the buffet line so you can help yourself—super convenient!

The restaurant is clean, with cozy dim lighting, soft instrumental music, and TVs showing peaceful natural scenery—a really nice touch. The staff is friendly and professional. Great food, great vibes—I highly recommend The Lion Indian Cuisine Restaurant!

I really wanted to rate this place higher, because there were some genuine positives. The fried momos were good, and I had no complaints at all about the naan and butter chicken—they were enjoyable and done right.

The service deserves a special mention. It was top-notch. The owner was extremely kind, respectful, and welcoming, which honestly made the experience better overall. You can tell they care about their customers, and that matters.

The main reason I’m sticking with a 3-star rating is the fried rice. It was unfortunately bland and at the same time overly salty, which threw things off for me. That dish didn’t match the quality of the rest of the food.

There’s definitely potential here, and with some improvement on consistency—especially the fried rice—this could easily be a higher-rated spot. I appreciate the hospitality and hope to see things improve on my next visit at The Lion Indian Restaurant.

First time checking out this Indian Buffett. Food was great and I had a chance to try a new dish. Chicken Karahi was on the menu which I’ve never tried. Really good and highly recommend to come check out this place if you’re in the area.
Staff was friendly and atmosphere was great.

Here’s a little recommendation for everyone: a pretty good Indian restaurant in San Antonio! This place is similar to another Indian restaurant I’ve been to before, offering both à la carte and buffet options, so you can choose what suits you best.

I’ve noticed that Indian restaurants here often have this feature—giving you these two options. However, the buffet is usually more cost-effective. Ordering individual dishes can end up being more expensive than an all-you-can-eat buffet, so we opted for the buffet this time.

The buffet had a great variety, with different curries, various dishes, and even unique desserts. The curries were especially impressive, ranging from creamy to spicy and mild, catering to all preferences.

I particularly loved their butter chicken curry —the creamy flavor was so rich and satisfying! As for the other curries, I tried a bit of everything I hadn’t had before, and each had its own distinct flavor and was delicious in its own way.

For dessert, I tried something that resembled an Indian-style mango sago. It was recommended by a friend, and surprisingly, it tasted amazing! It wasn’t a lassi, so it felt quite unique. I can’t recall its name, but if you visit, I highly recommend trying it (it’s the small yogurt-like bowl in the picture).

Another dessert they had was a small pastry, which I personally didn’t enjoy much, so I wouldn’t recommend it. However, if you’re curious, you can still grab a small piece to try. My friend and I shared a tiny piece and found it not to our taste.

For those interested, you can visit the restaurant and dine in. They also offer a pay-by-weight takeout option, which is great for those who’d prefer to enjoy the food at home.

My girlfriend and I visited The Lion for the 7:00 PM dinner buffet. The restaurant had plenty of open seating, a pleasant atmosphere, and the service was good, with our drinks being regularly refilled.

Unfortunately, the experience was ultimately disappointing due to the food temperature. All of the buffet items were cool or at room temperature instead of being properly hot, which is not only a quality issue but a serious food safety concern. This completely ruined our appetite, and we are now hopeful that we do not get sick from the food we did consume.

Overall, disappointing to say the least, as we had high expectations given the amount of positive reviews.
